Is it squeaking or clunking? If its squeaking, use Valvoline Durablend grease (you can use Superlube but its expensive and hard to get). If its clunking, tighten the bolts a bit more.
Thanks greg,
I will try that monday in the evening,
It is for sure a squeak right now like the old toyotas do when you put upper arms on them you know what I mean?
I will try it and post on status
thanks guys,
corey
just coated the shackles with grease we'll see how we do got to drive about 100 miles right now.
greg,
one thing I noticed is on the lower mount bracket side closest to the tire there are two little notches on the stock metal that are tearing the s**t out of my new shackle bushings. have you seen this on the 08's or is mine just a lucky one.
thanks for the help

Prg Heavy Duty Shackle Install W/ Pics
Tools needed:
floor jack
19mm open end wrenches and or socket set
small pry bar big screw driver
grinder or metal file
OK jack up rear of truck by the bumper or frame
Loosen the bolts attaching the shackle
Remove bolt attaching shackle to frame mount, spring will spring towards bed
With pry bar push leaf spring up to remove 2nd bolt above frame Grind or file tabs on inside of mount on frame
Install shackle on leaf spring with gusset (support with hole) facing the rear
(don't go thinking its a good idea to install that bolt from the outside toward the the frame because you think its easier, the pointy end will hit the frame and you will have to take it off and reinstall them both again )
With pry bar pull leaf spring down and install bolt
Repeat on opposite side lower truck.

I didn't get the grinding of the tabs either. I don't remember seeing anything like that on my Titan. I guess I need to take them off and get that done. It would have helped if the shackles had come with instructions.

I pre-lubed the bushings before install, didn't have to grind the tabs. Come to think of it, maybe 'cause I got it on the 1 inch drop setting it wasn't needed. No rubbing, no noise.

which hole in the shackle you put the bolt (stock -1/2" -1") has nothing to do with the tabs in the shackle mount on the frame that you have to grind or file off or your lower bushing is grooved with lube
bech,
your right man I missed that post,
so I am going to pull the shackles out this weekend to file those crappy tabs cause I really dont want them chewing up my bushing so fast.
By the way the grease worked like a charm, no more squeak,,,,,,, for now.
I wish I would of read that post more carefully in the first place, at least now I can do both shackles in like 20 minutes with all this practice.lol

Bad assumption on my part. I thought since I was using the 1 in. drop hole on the shackle was the reason I didn't have a problem with those tabs located under the bed above the shackle mount. I stand corrected and will file/grind those down. Unless I'm looking at the wrong thing, the tab is about an inch from the upper bushing.
Does a load in the bed make those tabs contact the bushing?
I did lube both upper and lower bushing just to be on the safe side, didn't know the lower bushing lubing was not needed. Your write up was what gave me the confidence and prompt me to buy and install the PRG shackles, thank you. Obviously I need to read more "How things work".
