Hey guys, I'm looking into lifting my 4WD KC titan. I want to know, what is the tallest you can go ( in inches )with just a suspension lift? I'm not talking custom, either. I'm just looking for a bolt-on kit. So far, the tallest kit I've seen is the CST 7in. Also, how tall can you go before you would need to get a different driveline? I'm only guessing here, but, if you go too tall wouldn't you need to get an extended driveline or do something to reduce the angle of it? I'm a newbie so maybe these are silly questions, but I still haven't found all of my answers! Thanks for the info!
the 7" CST is the tallest kit for the 4x4's and to solve to driveline problem it comes with a carrier bearing drop because the Titan uses a 2 piece drive shaft

I thought the 4wd's didn't have a carrier bearing, had a 1 piece driveshaft?
For the OP...Welcome to TT and don't forget the 38" tires will give you some extra lift...

Correct, no carrier bearing on the 4wd's, just a solid aluminum driveshaft from t-case to diff.
You should be able to use the Fabtech lift (6"), SAW or Radflo coilovers, with PRG upper control arms and a custom spacer(1.5") for a total of 7.5" +/- of lift, depending on how much you crank the C/O's. Then if you add the 3" Body lift, 10.5", and if you go with 37's, you can get about 1.5" more of lift, for a total of 12".
You can do the same thing with the Procomp kit (6"), but can only gain about 1" over the original 6" because the procomp spindle is shorter than the fabtech, so the custom spacer is shorter.
Not positive if you can do the same thing on the CST 7" kit or not?

look no further than bulletproof. Your looking at about $7k for eveerything. but it's the tallest bolt-on system for your Titan. Add a body lift for extra "sickness". As far as the conventional kits, do a FT kit, our upper arms, our SAW coilovers, Billet spacer, our Deaver 3" springs, Bilstein rear shocks, traction bars (to keep the tranny mounts alive), CST sway bar endlinks, and you will have 9" in front and 6" in the back. Add a body lift for about 12" of lift.
my bad, i figured they were the same as 2wd. does the kit drop the transfer case or is the stock driveshaft long enough?
On the 6" lifts, the stock shaft is long enough.

Hey, thanks for all of the replies! Yeah, don't think I'll be going with the 12in "Bulletproof" lift. Thats a little too big! I'm thinking more along the lines of a conventional lift. I was wondering which kit would be better for height, Procomp or Fabtech? Sounds like Fabtech is better for height, but poorer fit and finish? Maybe someone can clear this up for me.

What? Come on....God hates a coward!

Haha! I actually have seen a couple of trucks with the bulletproof lift that I like alot. I just don't wanna run anything bigger than 35's. So, everyone agrees that the stock driveline will work fine with a 8-9" suspension lift?
