Hello,
I have been going through some of the same thoughts as this guy
(The message board will not allow me to post url's yet, so please add a www infront of this titantalk.com/forums/titan-general-discussion/70936-tell-me-why-i-should-keep-titan.html[/url]
When I first bought my Titan I absolutely loved it. Now, while I love the ride and how it handles, I am trying desperately to fight the urge to sell it (2004 king cab SE off road), my 1997 Lincoln town car, and buy a 2008.5 LE Crew cab.
At some point this summer, I would like to do something with my truck, to renew my love for it and to fight this urge.
Again, if you could add the www in front of this

looks absolutely awesome, but due to cost reasons (and wanting to use stock size snow tires on a 17 inch rim in the winter) I would be more likely to a prg 2 inch leveling kit with the mini lift (1.5 inch blocks)- and the best I can figure 33 inch tires are the biggest for this kit without dealing with rubbing issues and having to trim your fenders. I really have no clue about these things, but have been researching the best I can.
I am really not writing for lift kit advice at the moment (but am more than happy to read it). What I am curious about , i have heard (i think megw) someone mention how a lifted truck rides differently than a non lifted truck. This is to be expected- more top heavy ==> more body roll? but I would appreciate any comments on how people's trucks handle differently after being lifted. For me, I do not go off roading (other than in a hay field to pick up a wagon or trailer full of hay- stock trim is fine for this), and I value continuing to have the ability to tow a 6000 lb horse trailer (my brother likes horses, I sell drugs [pharmacist]). My truck is a pretty truck, which does work around the barn/farm when needed, as well as helping out whenever friends / family need a truck. Every family needs a truck.
I appreciate the comments on how your Nissan's have handled differently after the lifts were installed. I just want to fall in love with my Titan for a second time.
Since you don't offroad too much, I would say just get some 2.5" SAW or DRE, (or I think they're Icon now), coilovers for stock applications. Talk to Greg at PRGproducts.com
The coilovers will allow you to level your Titan and improve the handling on curves, and of course take hits better offroad and on ... speedbumps, potholes etc.. Then add a pair of the DRE rear shocks. You will have a superior setup for less than $1500. With a smaller 2" diameter coil over, like the Radflo, you could spend under $1000, (with DRE rears).
Btw, on stock rims with a level kit, and sometime slight trimming, you can run narrow 35s, but 33s will keep your gearing stock, handling better (for an equal tire), and due to lower weight, save you a mile or two per gallon.

i say go this route...it's what i did, you won't be disappointed...my truck is leveled and handles better than stock, i have this exact setup 2.0 radflos in the front and dr stock replacements in the rear, whole setup cost me less than $900 installed
If you have the coin, go the route listed above.. You won't just fall in love again, a little lust might creep in as well!!!!

oooo... I know what you mean... get the new coilovers and shocks, it'll make you fall in love all over again... and if you are looking to lift, but not a full 6" or so, get the PRG spindle lift w/the new coils/shocks. I re-newed my love for my Titan by getting the front and rear SAW's, and a few extra parts, and I find myself driving it like I just bought it again...

I say trade it in for an 2008.5 then put the money into a leveling kit or the shocks! Then you'd be all set for a while! You know you want to since you mentioned it.
The 2008's are a world of difference from your 04.

Leveling kits are look upgrades ... not suspension upgrades. If someone can afford an 08.5 plus some PRG spec'd SAWs front and back, then sure. But I'd rather drive an '04 with a great suspension, than an '08.5 with OEM crap.
VERRY TRUE NORCAL!! I have an 08' and it rides like crap compared to my 05 with King front and rears... I mean IT REALLLLLY sucks... Wish I had never traded every day... But hell it's a fresh start to renew my Titan love!! Oh and yes I can tell the HP difference between 05' and 08'...

If I ever get to Upgrade trucks, my suspension is coming with me...

I guess my point was that he currently has "oem crap" that is all worn out, even "oem crap" on a new truck would feel better than what he's got. Then he'd have the latest titan that is greatly improved over the 04 he currently has. Granted if he bought stuff for his 04 and upgraded later he could always switch them out. I would say upgrading the suspension is a cheaper alternative but he mentioned a 08 so thats why I said that.
