Re: prg leveling kit question

You shouldn't need the tires balanced unless they're already out of balance. I think it's recommended that you get the front end aligned to prevent uneven tire wear.

My BIL is a service manager and told me I should ask for the following to be installed (per a service bulletin) after I install the PRG leveling kit:

Cam Bolt - 54580-7S005 Qty. 4
Cam Washer (Eccentric) - 54559-7S005 Qty. 4

Some late 2005 models, all of 2006 and 2007 had bolts that attach the lower control arms to the frame which provide ZERO adjustment for the camber. All the rest came with "cam" bolts so that the camber can be adjusted. If you have a 'regular' style of bolt, you'll need the camber style bolts.

Allignments, Camber Bolts, & Leveling Kits

Re: prg leveling kit question

My 08 did not come with the cam bolts. I thought I would need them to get the alignment back in spec after installing the leveling kit, but my tire shop was able to get the everything back within spec without the bolts.

On the other hand, if you can get your dealer to provide the bolts at no cost per the service bulletin, that certainly wouldn't be a bad thing.

Re: prg leveling kit question

I put the camber bolts on when I installed my SAW's.. Turned out, I didn't really need to. Nothing was out but the toe....

Re: prg leveling kit question

A leveling kit will not affect the camber. You will have to have the toe in adjusted though.

Re: prg leveling kit question

You can always just "bolt on and drive it". BUT, you're likely to kill your tires prematurely. Get it aligned afterwards.... The toe usually needs to be adjusted.... And tires get expensive.
