Thinking about getting SAWs

Whats the difference between the bracket and non bracket SAWs? Planning to switch them out with my DR's. Will the 2.5 give me more height than the DR's? And will they work with a spindle lift for 4x2s?

Bracket lifts use a fabricated lower bracket that lowers the controls arms along with longer spindles(not to be confused with lift spindles) to provide the lift. Bracket lifts require a longer then stock shock, or some manufactures have a bolt on spacer that goes on top of the shock(not to be confused with a level kit spacer) to complete the kit.
PRG now has SAW's in the longer length to simply bolt on to bracket lifts.

PRG also has factory length SAW's that are direct bolt in replacements for the stock Titan shocks.

And to complete the SAW/PRG story, there's a SAW that's a little longer then stock capable of increasing travel, BUT these need different UCA's. This is probably the most common set-up for many guys here.

The 4" lift spindle works with all of the above shocks EXCEPT the bracket lift shock. The lift spindle/SAW/PRG UCA combo is a real good overall performance set up, very popular among the Titan crowd...Me included...

The SAW's will give you 1" more doop travel. But if it's height you want,Then stick with the Donahoes flip the upper mount and grind the coil bucket because when you do this everything move's down further therefore you need to clearance the bucket so the UCA can move down and around the coil bucket.Got it!
This truck has Donahoes with flipped upper mount.

Re: Thinking about getting SAWs

Maybe this will help?

1. SAW Extended Length Coilover for Bracket Lifts
2. Factory (Non-Offroad) Coilvoer with 6" ProComp Spacer
3. SAW PRG Performance Package Coilover

Already flipped and cut the coilbucket, but when i take it on jumps doesnt seem to soak up all that good, seems like its almost bottoming out., most people that switched from dr to SAW's say there's a great improvment so I think im gonna give it a try. Thanks for all the help BECHLYF.

Way better handling on curvy roads.
Levels your truck by raising the front if you want, and much smoother on rough roads, speed bumps, and potholes.

No, comparing my DR's on-road performance, (and any aftermarket coilovers that Greg would carry), to stock, because that is what I thought Riverratt was asking:

If you read post #2 by loufish, there are three types of SAWs that Greg specs and builds with his spring choices.

The stock application SAWs for stock Titans ... nothing else needed, but since a spindle lift, (2wd only), is basically stock, this seems like the same application as the DRs.

Mid length, PRG upper A-arm required version ...

But "extended SAW" sounds like the bracket lift SAWs. Why do these work with the spindle? If you have a stock upper A-arm, it seems the stock application SAW would be what you would need. But IDK, just curious about the reason.
