Got everything but the traction bars installed this weekend:
SAW 2.5 c/o's
PRG UCA's
SAW Piggybacks
Deaver 2.5" mini pack
PRG Shackles (set to -1")
(Traction bars should arrive this week)
Started in the front, everything went smooth and easy, just took a while because I'm still new to this stuff and I took my time and didn't hurry. I was hoping for a little more lift going from the 2" leveling kit to the SAW's, but the 08's taller front end meant that I had to crank the preload on the saw's up to 2.5" of thread showing just to get back to where I was before with the leveling kit. Ride is a little stiff but I like it that way. Before I got to the rear end install, I ran the truck down a trail near the house that is pretty rutted from the winter and the front end simply floated over everything. SWEET ride!
The rear was a little more intimidating - I had never worked with leaf springs before. My buddy Fiulice was way cool to help with the install and after working through the night she is done. A big thanks to Firulice for his help!!!
With the shackles set to -1" I have about 1" of rake. I prefer a more level truck. Greg suggested removing the largest of the three springs from the mini pack, I may try that when the traction bars arrive. I haven't been off road with the new rear end yet, while working under the truck I noticed some fluid dripping from the transfer case. The truck went to the dealer today and they are replacing the T-Case under warranty.
Some more notes from the install:
The toolbox sucks to remove to get to the shackle. If I ever have to get to that bolt again I'm punching an access hole in the toolbox then covering it with duct tape when I'm done.
The suggestion to use c-clamps to keep the spring pack aligned is a good one. After a late night search for 4-6" clamps that ate up time, I found some 3" clamps that worked just fine.
Working late can impair your judgement. I was using jack stands but was under the truck when it was lifted off the jack stands at one point. The truck slipped off the jack and fortunately the jack stands caught it. I'm lucky. Don't make the same mistake I did. We've all heard not to be under the truck unless it's on jack stands - Greg's instructions also include this warning. I should have taken this advice more seriously.
I can't wait to hit the trails with the complete setup!

Like Shrute said after the front install his truck rides so well! I am definately a SAW believer now after one ride and am going to be adding some to the PC lift. I'm excited to ride off road in his truck now that the full install is done! Sick!

Sweet man! Do your tires still rub with the new SAW's?
I'm afraid that I'd do this setup and it wouldn't be high enough for me. After spending that much money I want to be happy. I guess thats why I'm still on the fence. If only you could use these on the PC lifted trucks later on I probably wouldn't care..
Oredered my SAWS today and should have them on by friday! Greg is great to work with. He just got in some silver springs so I'm excited and want to check out the new color on my red brawn

Also, WHERE ARE THE PICS???
I was in the same boat as you, do I get the SAW's now just to need different ones later if I decide to lift it??
I really like the look of the 6" lifts, but decided that if I can clear 35's then I'm happy. I only had a little rub with the leveling kit, but I had trimmed the inner fender a bit. With the SAW's at 2" of preload the front end sat a little lower and I had a little more rub. I cranked it up to 2.5" of preload which brought it back to the same height it was before, but the ride is a little stiff. It's not too stiff for me but it's probably not for everybody. To get rid of the little bit of rub that was left I trimmed the inner fender a little more. Pretty much the only rub I get now is at full lock when the tire rubs on the frame a little bit - not too bad.
I'll get some pics when I take it out this weekend.

Dude it's going to be sick to have both our trucks on SAW's for this weekend!!
Anyone else in Utah want to join us and a few others Saturday at Five Mile Pass?
so the saws don't get much higher than a leveling kit... hm, I was hoping for an inch or so on my 05 4wd w/2.5" leveler... I think I seriously need to just sack up and call Greg and pay for stuff and deal with it
also what size are the rims/tires? and what kind of offset is it? they don't stick out much it doesn't look like... if I had to guess I'd say 33x12.5x18 8.5" wide rims... or a positive offset and 18x9 or 10" max... looks nice either way
in fact, could even be 35x20... or 18" eh... I give up...

ok, if you order the front SAW coilovers (run them fully compressed) that are for bracket-lifted rides, later on you won't need to change anything, except adjust them with the spanner wrench to add more lift... I'm sure PRG can give you the specific ht. that these coils will lift your stock front up with them fully compressed... the longer you wait, the more you're gonna regret for not having done it already...

Is this true? Can you run the bracket lift SAW's without a bracket lift? This is the first I've heard of this... Doesn't seem possible, but if true I wish I would have known about this sooner!!! Need to call Greg.
