Re: help on going BIG!!!

yes a gm rearend. i know the gm isnt a strong rearend, but there are a lot of gears and axles for them. what would you suggest besides a dana product pecora since now you seem to want to throw your knowledge and opinion in.

For what tires, 38" Bogger's or something smaller? I know you said you were considering something smaller because you weren't sure if they'd fit.

Re: help on going BIG!!!

Megs - I had 38" SSRs.

For someone who owns his own 4x4 shop I find it funny that you go to greg for all your suspension knowledge.

First off going with a GM 10 bolt is DUMB. end of story. I don't care of they have a lot of gears and axles as you say. I'd personally go with a Dana 60 but since you said something other than that I wouldn't mind going with a GM 14 bolt FF axle. If money wasn't an issue and i wanted to run some 49's or something for muddin id go with some 2.5 rockwells. Would be pretty sweet.

rtc - can you please just admit you don't know anything about suspensions/drivetrains and so on and that you don't own a 4x4 shop? Please?

Megs - Here is a pic or two... i wish i had it still to be honest with you. I would have done things differently then what I did (SAS would have been done for sure). But you learn by trial and error

Re: help on going BIG!!!

um well lets see where can you get a 10" suspension lift from? well the only place i know is prg wrong or right? well in that case i am sure i am right, with this being said then why in the hell would i not talk to greg? prg is the only company that offers a 10" setup. i would just leave my 8 and do a 3" body, but i dont necessarily like the body lift, but if i have to have one to clear the tires i want then of course i will. our shop does not do custom work, it is pretty much an installation for bolt on lift or minor modifications. we dont have mills, or lathes or cnc machine none of that so i cant make my own **** to do whatever i want to and also it is kind of difficult for lifts on a 2wd cause of angle of the driveshaft, but you dont have this problem with a 4wd. so yes i do know some things about suspensions and drivetrain, but not too much on the titan. so if i feel the need to call greg i will for the simple fact he does nothing but build parts and PERFORMANCE lifts for nissan products. so he would be the one i would really want my information to come from. if there is an issue with what i say on this forum your more than welcome to call me or not reply. i think that would be an accurate statement. your the one who chooses to read what i post and even dumber than that post your bull**** right along with it. thanks

Re: help on going BIG!!!

if you read in my other post, i bought a partnership into the company, so i dont do custom setups and the guy that started the company works a fulltime job a cooks childrens hospital so when he has time and a customer has time to leave their vehicle he can do custom work to it. we looked at doing an sas to my truck then he got to talking about how long it would take and i dont want my truck to be down that long. also if your intelligence preceves you then go back to the website and look on the left column towards the bottom and where it says offroading mishaps you will find my truck in there. wow. how would that be on there? once again anytime you want to talk about some things then pick up the thing that most of us call a phone and call. that way you get off your chest what you think you need to and ill be more than happy to talk all day to you and finish this conversation

Re: help on going BIG!!!

also if you read the last post before last correctly i said custom as in maching or making parts to do whatever. an sas is consider custom work correct? nothing but cutting and welding done to do a sas. some geometry and so forth but no making from scratch other parts in which our shop does not have the capability to do so. as far as welding and cutting we can do that, but once again not to make new uca's or new leaf springs or build co's

Re: help on going BIG!!!

I must admit, that is a pretty nice looking Chevy Pecora! And yes you are right a 14bolt Full Floater would be the only other thing I'd choose if he doesn't want a Sterling 10.25 or D60.

As for SAS, it shouldn't take that long to do it. Heck I've seen a few done in people's driveway's and it only took a couple days. If you make sure you have everything you need first it won't be that hard. TJ, the kid with the black Dak in the pics I posted did his in 3 days in his buddies driveway. If you have a shop with a lift, tons of tools, someone who knows what they're doing and a welder it really shouldn't take that long. And as for which axle would be best it all depends on what tires you're running, and how much money you want to spend. There's a big difference in 38" Bogger's and something less agressive like the Toyo's or Cooper Disco STTs. If you get a one ton rear it should hold up without modifications. But you can always get a smaller half ton rear, like a Ford 9", and have it built up to be strong and have more ground clearence over the one tons. So I guess it all boils down to how much money you want to spend.
