The red springs would have done better...

Re: SAW c/o (silver spring)

I visited Sway-A-Way in Chatsworth, CA today to get my rear shocks re-filled with nitrogen (I was experimenting with lower pressure...didn't improve anything). Man, those guys are so nice! Also, one of my front c/o's was missing a set screw in the preload collar so they put one in for me. I had Chris under my front fender and Brian under the rear axle at the same time! It felt like I had my own pit crew!!! Thanks again, SAW!!!!!

GoFast - Just curious, why were you experimenting with lower pressures? Ride too stiff?

I've posted this a couple of times in different forums, but my truck hops pretty bad on certain concrete stretches of highway from the expansion joints. I've been suggested that lowering the pressure might be a solution --- nope, didn't help. I talked to Deavers today and they confirmed it is due to the longer wheelbase (an engineer there has the same truck and the same issue). Adding weight to the rear seems to help (rides better with full tank). Oh well, I guess I will learn to live with it, because besides that, it rides like a dream!

Re: SAW c/o (silver spring)

Must have missed your other posts - just got back from a little vacation and didn't get on TT much the last week.

That sucks about the hop. I probably missed this too, but what else are you running in the rear besides the piggybacks? Again, just curious.

Everything else is stock. Thinking about the deaver pack to replace the block, but it's not available yet for the long bed (longer spring) plus I'm not sure I want it any stiffer. I'm really tempted to get the traction bars from all the rave reviews lately but UCA's are next on my list.

Re: SAW c/o (silver spring)

I don't know if they would help with the hop, but the traction bars are great - really makes the rear end feel solid! (That's what she said)

Do you still have the overload spring is the rear? If you do, get the deavers, ditch the overload and the block and I'm sure it will be better.

Re: SAW c/o (silver spring)

I have been considering this, but thought that since the leaf pack would be replacing the block and the stock overload spring to get the same lift (see description from PRG below), it would result in an even stiffer ride. Also, Deavers does not have a spring pack yet for the long bed (longer spring). Hopefully, they will develop one soon.

PRG Deaver Titan C-30 3-Leaf Spring Pack
Description
These 3 leaf add-a-leaf packs are designed to give a bit more lift and a bit more load handling than the C-10 pack, but are otherwise the same. They are added in place of the overload leaf on your stock spring packs. These springs will provide approximately 3.5" of lift on a 4wd and approximately 2.5" of lift on a 2wd. They can be used in place of a block on the ProComp, Rancho, or Fabtech kits.
