cutting the front coils?

hey guys im gonna be puttin 22s on my truck and i wanna lower it to give it a better stance. would it be ok if i cut the coils 1" to lower the front? im not sure how that works so just wondering what you guys think about it? will it suffer the ride? should i just buy new lowered coils?

That will work fine but its better to get a torch, heat up the springs real hot and they will compress and when cooled be lower.

I wouldn't go with either of those... do it right. I'm not sure the options for the front, but get greg's drop shackles for the rear.

I've tried both cutting & heating coils before on previous vehicles and the ride was terrible.

The ride will be rough. Nissan coils are hard in the center and softer towards the ends and by cutting off an end, you're cutting away the softer part of the spring.

I agree! I had a friend try and do this and the ride SUCKS! So he is looking for an after market kit! I haven't seen him in awhile so I dont know if he found one!

hey thanks guys, ill just have to be on the look out for 2" drop kit front coils.

i already ordered the shackles from greg, and im gonna pull a leaf in the rear. so i want the front to be alittle lower also. ill see how it turns out.

your best option is to get spindles... when you cut or purcahse new springs it will sit near the bump stop....you sill loose 1" of travel if you go with springs. just my experince...good luck.! any questions just holla!

When you shorten a coil spring, it gets stiffer. I don't remember what the Titans front coil springs look like, so I can't say cutting is even an option...

Those telling you to get a lowering spring are giving you good advise...
