that sounds like it... next time you get ready to start from a stop, just give it about half throttle and see if you can hear and feel something similar to the rear tires slipping as you accelerate, if so, then you definitely have a jacked up mount... here's some pics of my second torn mount... 1) front view 2) driver's front view 3) passenger's front view

Mine was doing the same thing and the bars completely stopped it. The traction bars may have been a cover up i will go look and see how it looks and post back on this thread.

Re: PRG traction bars rule!

My truck has did that clunking noise on acceleration yesterday after backing out of a drive way and accelerating out... I've heard it maybe twice before and not known what it was. After reading this post I crawled under and cheked that tranny mount but it looks fine? Any other ideas what may be causing this? It doesn't do it all the time just sometimes? Thanks

Re: PRG traction bars rule!

I was talking to Ed about the noise I got from my rear end and it seems that I may be needing these traction bars as well. Does anyone have pics of a non lifted truck with this product installed? I'm looking for that hidden look because I'm all about the custom.

that means the mount is torn... the core is solid but does not extend all the way up, so if the side is torn, it actually keeps on ripping all the way around the solid core, causing the mount to flex every time you accelerate... I think I paid $100 for the mount and took myself about 1/2 hr. to replace it... I just checked today, been over a month of pretty hard driving after traction bars were installed, and the new mount is intact, thanks to PRG Traction Bars!

Re: PRG traction bars rule!

Is there other mounts that commonly break. While speaking with Greg at PRG, he stated that the transfer case mounts also suck? Any info on this...

Afraid you're going to still see them... They hang down a bit and are readily visible from the side......
