lift help

ok i've got a 08' Pro-4x King cab titan and i wanna put a lift on it but not exactly sure what all i will need. I like the Pro Comp 6" lift but wanted to know what everybody recommended. Also in reading alot of the forums i hear people talking about SAW's and Coilovers and things like that. I sorta know what they are but could you all help me out with that a little bit. I will mainly be driving the truck on the road and just occasionally off road. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Re: lift help

For a 6" lift, you install lowering brakckets for the lower control arms, but since the upper arms stay in the stock location you also install a new longer spindle. Because the lower arm is now farther away from the upper coilover frame mount (know as the "coil bucket") you need either a spacer to mount between the top of your stock shock and the upper frame mount ( sucks, a bad design) or you install longer shocks.

Coilover shocks are shocks that have the coil spring intergrated with the shock it self. You can either purchase the Pro Comp longer shocks(many have...and some have regretted it) or you can go thru PRG Products and purchase a SwayAway (SAW)brand coilover shock custom tuned to Greg's spec's...

Does that help any?....

Re: lift help

^^^sums it all up...but there are other options other than pro comp. do a little reseach (seems like you kinda have) but once you go 6in youre going to want to go higher after that. fabtech lifts can acheive more lift than pro comp or cst with coils/spacers/new upper a's and so on....just something to think about

Re: lift help

Check out Greg's sticky thread on different lifts... I love my 6" pro comp but love it even more with the SAW coilovers. They make it so smooth and nice. The lift makes the Titan look so much better though... you wouldn't regret it
