Im not talking about little mudholes in cow pastures like in the picture above either. Im talking about wet muddy hills with no bottom at all. Hell a lot of people cant make it with a 4wd including me sometimes. Now this all depends on where you live and how you use your truck. For example their is no way in hell i would be able to keep up with kartman in the desert in my 4wd and my truck would be pointless to him.

lmfao, lets see how much mud you've gotten on your truck with stock rims/tires... I don't think you'll touch mine no matter what kinda mud hills you climb

1st off, my 17" rims w/33" tires were $2,000+ so it isn't hard to spend $4000+ on a rim tire/lift combo... second giovanna 22"s DO NOT cost $10,000 or even HALF that cut it into 4 and you're getting closer... the ONLY rims I've seen that are blingers that run $10,000 are the dub pimpstar spinners that you program custom sh!t to be displayed in the rim while it's running though the multi-color led setup it has goin on... as for lifted trucks doing what they should. I think you're a kid who's just as lost as the people you're pointing the finger at... as stated, purpose built 2wds would probably run circles around any 4wd you've probably ever had the pleasure of riding in.. I've personally mudded my truck in 2wd and have seen others do even more rediculous wheeling in 2wd. I did most of this in 2wd and with stock tires/rims that obviously don't stick out AND my mudflaps were still on...

only time I was in 4wd was to get speed other than that 2wd was where it would spin tires...

this was like 2+ years ago and I have YET to see someone locally do something like that rolling a stock vehicle.... if I setup a 2wd w/locker and performance suspension lift and tires I'd be able to do WAY more wheeling than anything I've seen locally... granted I wouldn't choose a titan as a base line, I'd probably run an F250 super duty w/5.4 gas for the high rev powerband (only reason I prefer gas over diesel) so I dunno what kinda grass you've been smoking but it's probably not as caked with shrooms as my truck the day after I went mudding obviously you are mistaken with what 2wd and 4wd means... baja/prerunner trucks can do retarded offroading/desert running. I'm 90% sure that's what most west cost trucks are setup for.. mudding is fun, but different strokes for different folks... you gotta realize if everyone was like you the world would be no fun at all... likewise for me. so don't just run around liping and hating on others because you think it's something wrong. I dislike import race vehicles and think it's wasting time.. but I don't hate on them. and I respect the fact they work on their vehicles and make them do impressive things... me personally I'd like to get some 22" rims with spinners and knobby tires mudd the fuk out of it, wipe one little spot on each spinner clean so everyone can tell they're chrome spinners and run around with them caked in mud spinning JUST so people can see I don't give a fuk and I STILL ramble my sh!t not that I have 22"s or spinners to do it with, but I was looking into both just for the fun part I stated above

and I'm kinda drunk, not just trying to bash that's why all the smilies still havin fun here

First off im not a kid, im 25 years old and I have been in active duty military service since April 2002. Dont presume you know everything about trucks, there is always gonna be someone that might know a bit more or have different experience. and please dont try and send personal attacks at me, I find that to be rather immature.

2nd off if you want to see some REAL mudding action, that that truck up north where there are actually places to go mudding. places I have come from you gotta roll in F250's with 30" of lift and be popping at least 500 ponies to pull through the mud its so thick...So dont go and presume I have never owned a truck or a lifted truck for that matter. my first truck I ever owned was a 302 powered Ford Ranger on 38" swampers. and my toy ride back in them days was a my gold ole CJ7 powered by a 400ci small block chevy on 44" tractor tires. SO just because i dont know anything about titan doesnt mean I dont know anything at all.

AND DON'T FORGET FOLKS... "dont model your vehicle around what others want you to do."

because we all know how uncommon it is to find a lifted truck in florida with swampers and/or tractor tires...

That is uncalled for and a pointless post sir...

I gave the guy good information. I gave him my point of view and told him to do what HE wants to do with his truck. If he listens to the people on the board he will have a truck that everyone else wants and he hates.

i think your point is null b/c if you took two stock titans one 4x2 and one 4x4 the 4x4 is going to be able to go places the 4x2 can't ...

both trucks set up equally, the 4x4 will be more capable off road

but i am in no way saying that 4x2 are bad off road cause they can be great

you did not give him good information. you gave him an opinion (far from "good information") of why you think lifting 2wds are pointless, when on the contrary can be very useful and helpful.

no doubt, but you'd be surprised what a 4x2 can do.

Re: 4X2 lift?

I think this entire thread is pointless...

I could be bias though, since I'm 2wd...well, more like 1wd until I get TruTrac.
I understand that you were just stating you're opinion and that's cool, it doesn't bother me at all.

something to think about...
people are going to do what they want with THEIR trucks and as long as they like it, that's really all that matters.

it is, but of course you have these newer forum members join up and post garbage threads like this when this subject has been beaten like a dead horse over and over again. yet, later on down the road you'll get another ignorant person pose the same question. SDtitan1 pretty much summed it up. how you build your truck up regardless of whether its 4x2 or 4x4 is up to that particular owner and imho, geography.

I might be wrong, but I get the impression the OP has a 2wd, is considering a lift of some type, but wanted opinions on if it is an outlandish idea ... and I agree with you that SDTitan1 summed it up great!

Btw, if I had seen this thread back in '04, and was driving a 2wd, I'd get one of these 4" spindle packages, and set the coilovers for 0 preload, but you can get 7.5" out of any of them, (on the bottom row), and one of them says 8.5"!
Great looking 2wd Titan lift pkgs.

Re: 4X2 lift?

I lifted my 2WD because I like the look. I don't plan on doing much offroading, but I will do some here and there. Oh, and for the record, my buddy had a 99 Silverado 2WD with a 9"lift and 35's. Aired down to 12 psi in each tire, he went EVERYWHERE in Glamis and Pismo. Who says you need 4wd for that? IMO, you just gotta be smart and not drive like a dumbass.

Whats your point? My gf can drive through puddles in her dodge neon and get it covered in mud too. So now she has a bad *** offraod rig? In your right i dont have any pictures of my truck full of mud with my stock tires and rims because i put my lift and tires on it about 2 weeks after i got it. As a matter of fact i dont really have any muddy pictures because every time we go its unexpected and we never bring a camera.

Re: 4X2 lift?

I used to run my ranger through mud holes at 40 MPH when it was stock. That thing was 4x4 with a 4.0 V6 and would get stuck so easy it should hav ebeen 2WD. But it would bring home da booty when you came back into town with it all covered in mud like you been out somewhere tearing it up!
