I used to run my ranger through mud holes at 40 MPH when it was stock. That thing was 4x4 with a 4.0 V6 and would get stuck so easy it should hav ebeen 2WD. But it would bring home da booty when you came back into town with it all covered in mud like you been out somewhere tearing it up!
sick bro! .

I just purchased a 04 Titan. It is lifted 6 inched and has 20 inch rims with 35 inch mudd tires on it. I was just wondering if there is any kind of Electronic Calibration Tool for lifted vehicles with larger wheel and tire combinations or gear ratio changes. I greatly appreciate the help.
i'm sure everyone has a reason for buying the truck they did. living where i do we don't see a lot of rain. so no mud... no snow. and as far as having a lift for my 2wd... i can't wait. i don't think it matters who you are or what you drive, everyone likes tooling on the truck when we can. it never hurt to have a little extra ground clearance. granted i will say 10" on a 2wd does seem a little excessive... but i'm not going to judge.

I have a 2wd, but dressing up one to look like some over lifted 4wd is just posing...
Because I've lived in Kalifornia all of my driving life, a 2wd is a valid way to go. Not to mention my desert motorcycle riding activities...
If I lived where it snowed during the year, or in say Florida where all off-roading is mudding, then a 2wd can be pretty much usless...BUT you still wouldn't catch me with some over lifted Dumbo truck!

it is, but of course you have these newer forum members join up and post garbage threads like this when this subject has been beaten like a dead horse over and over again. yet, later on down the road you'll get another ignorant person pose the same question. SDtitan1 pretty much summed it up. how you build your truck up regardless of whether its 4x2 or 4x4 is up to that particular owner and imho, geography.
Thanks for calling me an ignorant you just made my day.
For a pointless and stupid question it seems it got your attention and the attention of some others.
I would have bought a 4x4 but the offer i got for the 4x2 was just to good to let pass. In Puerto Rico is common to lift 4x4 vehicles, nobody pays too much attention to 4x2's for offroading. I agree that a leveling kit would be appropriate and would make it look fine. I was just curious on how people think about this. As loufish mentioned it can be seen as Posing.
Maybe the forum access should be divided so that only experienced people such as hooligan can post new threads while ignorant people like me watch and learn.
Just remember, opinions are like a-holes...... eveyone has one, and they usually stink.
TT is a mixed bag, hard core off-roaders, mudders, snow bunnies, desert pre-runners, and even some frame draggers.
IMO, I own a truck, it's a truck, it will get scratches, I will put dirt in the bed, I will take it off road, I will wash it, annually
I built my truck for me knowing where I take it, and when. For summer I've added some nice 20's and a leveling kit with Nitto terra grapplers (tires that will go offroad!) that's not to say i'm going rock crawling with my 20's but probably the only offroading i will do is on the beach, and that ain't offroading to me. For winter, the OEM 17" OR rims/tires will be put on..... quite frankly I don't care what happens to them, which is why they are the winter wheels.
I keep my disco rims for summer

A touch sensitive maybe?...Please don't be...I lurked around for a while, and did thread searches the helped me stay out of the "another new guy asking the same old question..." category.
