Difference in Fabtech and ProComp

What is the difference (besides price). The dealer I am having install only carries Fabtech and the other only carries pro comp. Which one should I chose? If I can get the Fabtech for the same price as the comp is it better?

I am sure others (that know more than me) will chime in shortly, but from what I have gathered there is no cutting , welding, or modifying to be done with the pro comp lift. It is actually possible to take it off and return to stock if one was so inclined. I have the PC 6" lift and have absolutely no complaints. The only thing I needed to do was to grind the steering stops on the PC spindles.

Read Greg's review basically the procomps better. One thing that is nice about the fabtech though is that it comes with longer spindles so that you can get more lift out of it than with the procomp.

Check the number of steering rack replacements of guys using Fabtech lifts,I went with Pro-Comp.

Are You 2wd Or 4wd? Only Reason To Ask Is If You Are 2wd, Have You Considered A Spindle Lift With Some Coilovers?

A spindle lift is a good alternative for 2WD :-)

Sorry, my bad... Good ole' Utah, you have to have 4x4! Well, I think I might have to find someone to do Pro Comp! I have never felt Fabtech would be a good lift either.

One other thing I was told by Greg which kind of made me happier that I went with PC.

Fabtech you need to do some modifications to your frame (Drill holes if I recall) and the PC just bolts on to the frame with no modification needed.

Another happy procomp customer here. Mine's been installed for about 32k and no issues. Have to go over everything and tighten things up every now and again though, but that's with any bracket style lift.

as soon as i got my procomp lift on my 2008 titan it turned my nice new truck into a POS! not everyone seems to have the problem though but a lot are poping up i wish i didn't take everyones advise and did the fabtech like the dealer suggested and i could've kept my warranty. now everytime i hit a pothole on a dirt road or a speed bump it feels like the front end is going to fall off and sounds like the truck is a POS!! and no one has came up with a resolution.

well with the PC lift you have to be careful to not think the Stage 2 Front shocks WONT have some noises..

When I did mine I got the Radflo 2.5 coilovers.. Ive only heard the popping noise once. That was after someone from Discount Tire wanted to check the pressure in the res. I have since tightened that cap enough so you can not hand loosen. Otherwise Ive been very happy with my lift and my Radflos... However others have said PC Stage 2 fronts are essentially crap.

Fast - So you are saying with the Fabtech the dealer would not have voided your warranty? Like I said with the fabtech I think you have to drill holes which would make it easier to cancel a warranty.

i'm not talking the poping noise issue its more of a bang or hard jolt. in the front i also have stage 1 not 2 as i was going to upgrade to rads later. and yes my dealer installs fabtechs and lets you keep your warranty they also install superchargers and let you keep warranty. and the fabtech looks bigger and they have no problems.

Its nice the Dealer essentially wont hassle you if you have a lift installed, since the dealers that want to give you grief essentially have to prove any modifications to your vehicle was the contributing factor to a failure of something covered by a warranty, and then deny your claim..So that is a nice thing the dealer was offering you.

If you dont like your PC lift so much pull it off and sell it? I would say many people I know on this forum, with a lift, are using PC and dont have your same sentiment.

However if I were to suggest something to a friend with a Titan I would suggest the PC with radflo 2.5 fronts, just as PRG suggested to me.
