Where are the bilstein 5100's hiding??

Ok, I've decided to go with the bilstein 5100 shock/struts based on your posts. They sound like a giant upgrade from stock, and the best to fit for my needs and budget. I've been searching online for the past hour or so and can't find them anywhere. I could only find the fronts at PRG. Where have you guys purchased your sets from? I went to Bilstein's website, and they had autozone as one of the vendors, but autozone does not have them on their website. Thanks for the help.

Edgar

Re: Where are the bilstein 5100's hiding??

I ordered mine last Wednesday from shox.com and they arrived yesterday. Keep in mind I'm in Canada with the customs delays etc. They were 329.00 USD with free shipping in the U.S. I believe. That was for the set of four- 2 fronts and 2 rears:

"Details: set of 4 #BE5-D185-H0 FR. # BE5-D186-H0 REAR 0-2 INCHES FR. 0-1 INCH REAR"- model numbers might be different for the 2wd truck, I'm not sure, mine a 4wd.

Got the rears on last night and the fronts will go on Friday- got a good strut compressor.

Hope this helps.

Re: Where are the bilstein 5100's hiding??

The yellow Bilsteins for the front you have posted a link to are NOT the 5100 series, they are the HD series. The HD's are indeed an upgrade from stock, but they are not the 5100's which are a step up from the HD's.

Re: Where are the bilstein 5100's hiding??

I have them in stock. The internals of the 5100 series and the HD are just about identicle. You can only get about 1.5" of lift from them, even though they say 2" of lift. Either shock is a great upgrade over stock, and they ride the same. Please keep in mind, as I get this question everyday, you can NOT combine a 2-2.5" leveling kit and the Bilsteins to get 4+ inches of lift.

What about if you put aftermarket UCA's so that it would clear the coilover bucket???
