I'm ordering the stage one Pro Comp 6" kit today and they are telling me the stock rims wont work because of the backspacing. They say I need a rim with 4.5 or 4.75 backspacing? Is this correct? Whats the backspacing on the stock rims.
I have an 05 Crew Cab LE 2wd with the 18" 5 spoke rims
Thanks in advance

Buy from someone with knowledge of the product your buying. If this is the bad advise they are giving you now, i can only imagine what they will say when you have issues. Your factory wheels will be fine.

You have a 2wd, you should be looking into a set of 4" lift spindles and some aftermarket coil-over shocks...Call Greg at PRG BEFORE you Pro-Comp your 2wd!

Def call Greg at PRG, I did and got his top package which you dont have to get to have a good solid ride and lift. I was in the same boat and was told by a local 4 wheel store to do the Pro Comp lift and tires and wheels and after all said and done I went with PRG and got the lift on my truck which is better and ended up being cheaper. Check this link for photos of my truck with a PRG lift package: Pix of my '05 Canteen Green Titan

Thanks for all the replies. I sent Greg a PM. I might be out of luck though, cause I already made a deposit on the PC kit
Until you have fully paid for the kit and it is installed, it is never to late to cancel it. I did the same thing you did, before I contacted GREG. Just call the place you ordered it from and tell them your wife says "No," and you changed your mined, money is tight blah blah blah. If they are a good business they will return you your money.

Great to Hear!!! Those dudes over a 4 wheel parts just want your money not your business... You are going to be so much happier you went with Greg! Don't have 4 wheel parts install it either... ask Greg to recommend a place and if you don't mind driving to NorCo I can send you to a guy that can install it really good at a great price, Greg sent me to him. Just PM me if you need the info.

Well, finished the install. Will be getting the tires today or tomorrow and will post pics soon. Gotta re-bleed the brakes though cause they are very soft. Pedal goes pretty far down. Still stops though, so thats a plus, haha.
On a side note, Greg delivered that parts to me. Thanks very much, great guy. But he delivered them in a Toyota Tundra
Haha, just giving ya a hard time. Thanks again for all the help
