Leveling Kit Issue

Tons Of Great Info On Leveling Kits Here But I Can't Seem To Find What I Need To Know. I Just Had A 2" Ncd Kit Installed. My Question Is This Why Did A 2" Kit Almost Raise The Front 3", The Spacers Were Just Over An Inch Thick. One Side Of The Truck Measures 38 3/4" And The Drivers Side Is 38 1/2" High From The Ground To The Fender; Measured On My Garage Floor. Before The Spacer The Same Measurement Was 36". 2" Was The Max I Wanted As I Just Wanted To Fix The Saggy Nose Issue...

Your Insight Would Be Fantastic.

Re: Leveling Kit Issue

It shouldn't have raised you by that much. Was that all you changed? The addition of the spacers?

Re: Leveling Kit Issue

Drive it around for a bit. When i installed mine it looked higher than i expected in the beginning. After i drove on it it settled down a bit and now it is level.

Re: Leveling Kit Issue

i just had it done about 5 hours ago and I've put about 10 miles on it since. the spacers were the only thing done to the truck. The truck finally looks like a 4x4; as long as it settles to the 2" rise I thought I was getting it'll be 100%

Question Re: Leveling Kit Issue

Guys, just to be clear, is this the type of kit you had installed?:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2004-...m170218591808&

Is this something that someone who has moderate mechanical skills can do themselves, or will this need the likes of spring compressors, etc.?

Re: Leveling Kit Issue

pretty easy install, just need the right tools. not recommended for 08's or 4x4's. just use a 2".

2008 come a bit higher from the factory. For 08's it seems the only option is PRG. I believe you ive seen people with 08's put on the 1.3 inch kit. Give him a ring and he should answer your questions.

Re: Leveling Kit Issue

OK, so you are saying that for my '08 SE a 1.3" kit will be the best. I have searched but cannot find such a kit. Can you please point me in the right direction? Thanks!

Re: Leveling Kit Issue

hey bleasdell thanks for high jacking my thread.....

Now back to the issue at hand, the alignment sounds like a good idea but the truck tracks as straight as an arrow, i can let go of the wheel and go close to half a mile before i have to make a minor adjustment. measured it again today, same, driver side 38.5" and passenger side 38.75". a two inch lift would have put this at 38" as the center of the fender was 36" from the ground when i started. I'm pretty handy with most things but the suspension issue and alignment thing I'm just not tracking with. I still don't get why a spacer just over an inch thick could lift a truck over 2"s. I'll look into the alignment tomorrow; anything else that may cause the different measurements???

Re: Leveling Kit Issue

So is it the 0.25" differance from the driver to passenger side bothering you, or the overall height? Reason being sometimes vehicles set a little dirrerent from one side to the other, Take for instance Chevrolets when you order lowering springs DJM would send a 1" bushing for the driverside and not one for passenger so it would set level.
