Beating the dead horse levelling kit issue again

I know there are dozens of posts about these levelling kits out there, but i'm lost. So straight up ;i have the ncd 2.5 kit on and it makes one hell of a bang when i go over hard bumps like parking lot speedbumps. I'm talking teeth shattering , looking around to see if i've lost any parts bang.I don't recall it doing this before the kit. The noise is happening not on the compression but on the rebound of the shock.
i made sure to ask at the dealership when i had it put on if there was going to be any warranty issues and they said probably not.
I've read it's the strut , the arm , loose nuts etc.. what is the bottom line on these ? Is it the kit thats causing this or bad factory parts? Did anyone elses truck do this before the kit or only after?I want to go to the dealer and give them a heads up on this(there pretty reasonable when it comes to listening to problems !)If it's factory are they covered by the warrantry?
So please somebody give me a straight up answer !

If you have a 4x4 and installed a 2.5" spacer, then it could be what you are feeling and hearing is the Upper control arm hitting the coil bucket as the suspension moves toward full droop.

X2. I have read many posts that state for a 4x4 you don't want to go over 2 inches for a leveling kit.

Re: Beating the dead horse levelling kit issue again

Is there anything to be done besides removing the kit or can i use say, limiter straps, or bump stops to keep it from dropping completly.I like the way it sits when it's levelled (should have came this way from the factory).

+1, or get a 2" kit instead of the 2.5" one

Re: Beating the dead horse levelling kit issue again

or cut a lil tab outta the bucket

to go look....

o the drivers side upper control arm.... on the side closest to the driver floor board. look for any rubbing issues where the arm would touch the bucket.
and either cut a lil "v" into the bucket.....or get some bigger bump stops

You won't be able to see the uca and coil bucket from under the truck try sticking you head in the wheel well above the tire if you have room

Re: Beating the dead horse levelling kit issue again

Ok guys, here it goes!!! I got a leveling kit from top gunz on ebay. Before installing the leveling kit there was no thumping, or any other kind of noise what so ever. After installing the leveling kit, I started noticing a thumping and a noise I thought was the stabilizing bar bushings. I felt I had purchased a bad quality product (the leveling kit), and even considered removing it. I looked on the forums here and I sent a message to someone who had the same problem here and he told me he replaced the struts and that fixed it. So I did, and guess what??? It fixed it. All thumping and screeching went away. If you are thinking of installing a leveling kit, you might as well buy new struts and replace them while your truck is in the shop. I used the Rancho 9000xl 9pos. adjustable and they are great. They come with a lifetime warranty and the people at Rancho's warranty department are the best. I needed mine replaced and they sent me replacements no questions asked and they paid shipping and handling. I hope this helps and if anyone has any questions feel free to ask, I am no expert but I had these problems and this was the solution.
