Getting 14mpg after lift and rims/tire.

UPDATE: 6/23/08
AFTER NOT REALLY BELIEVING THE NUMBERS I HAD MY SPEEDOMETER CHECKED PROFESSIONALLY. i AM ACTUALLY GETTING 15.21 MPG. NOT BAD FOR WHAT IM RUNNING.

Last week was my official first with the new setup. After i filled up i reset the trip, as usual, to see what a difference the new setup would make. Honestly i was scared to check so i didnt till i filled up again. Well last Tuesday i filled up and this morning i did again. Was getting 350 miles/tank (22.6 gallons), now getting 315 miles/tank (22.6 gallons). Was shocked it was that good. Thought i would put this out there for anyone considering getting a lift with bigger tires.

p.s. dont bring up the stupid post i made about 20+ mpg, i already know that was BS.

Re: Getting 14mpg after lift and rims/tire.

hey i'm getting about the same with my setup....i was getting between 15-17 with the stock setup depending on driving conditions, etc. and now with the lift/tires.....i'm getting 14....first couple tanks after the new tires it was closer to 12, but the last couple tanks has been 14, hope it stays that way....

Re: Getting 14mpg after lift and rims/tire.

Titan gas mileage has gotten a bad rap. Last week I took the family to the theme parks in Tampa and Orlando. We drove a total of 1346 miles. Most of it was on the highway but probably 200 miles or so was city driving going to the parks, dinner, hotel, Bass Pro Shops, etc. I used 72.3 gallons over the course of the trip. My overall mileage was 18.6 mpg. That's with a 2WD CC BT with the cruise set on 70, two adults, two teenagers, and a bunch of luggage.

did you take into consideration your larger 34.63" tall tires? they will have yor speedometer off showing less and your tripometer also.

Did you know that Nissan has the speedometer and odometer set at the factory faster than your actually going? At least thats what I've heard.
I really dont see that good a mileage, I'd like to beleive it. I made a trip to Macon for memorial day and averaged 13.5 mpg. Thats with my 35" mud grapplers not on the truck. Maybe because i'm 4wd?

Re: Getting 14mpg after lift and rims/tire.

I would say that the gas prices are hitting me in other places more than my vehicles... my grocery bill has doubled, everything under the sun is going up in price and costing me WAY more than my fuel costs. I bought the Titan because it was so cheap and since I don't drive much at all (work from home), why would I buy a wimpy Prius or something just to save a couple bucks. My father in law drives an F350 dually diesel and tows a 42 foot trailer all over the country during his retirement... he was still not complaining because he is from the UK. Most of europe and other place in the world would kill for 4 dollar a gallon gas.

Re: Getting 14mpg after lift and rims/tire.

Is that city or highway mpg? I get 14mpg around town w/ my PRG 4" perf package and 315's. 17mpg is about as good as I get on the highway. And that is recalculating for the increased tire size.

Thats garbage, I got 2 GPS units. ! is a magellan for the car and the other is for my boating adventures. Both of them have a speed indicator that can be used and they both say my speedometer is dead on from the factory.
