Do the bars limit articulation? Not that I go rock climbing or anything like that, just thought I'd ask?
I haven't experienced any yet... the ball joint at the forward mount allows for full range of movement... however, I don't do any major rock crawling either, just good ole trail running and minor rocky road sight seeing trips...

Sounds to me like bars have no negatives. Been over at the PRG site, Currently $419 for bars, seems reasonable. Think thats a good place to start. What was your first suspension mod? If you had to pick one to improve handling what would it be? Mainly after better ride and better cornering with less roll. I think BB wrote bars do more than just improve traction, if they improve cornering and roll maybe able to stop there until shocks need replacing. Who is best to look too for install of bars and any idea on what they should charge, 4x4 shop, body shop, etc?
They're easy.. Check the link in my sig. All you need to do is follow that up to the "weld" point... Just mark the frame. Clean it up. Head to a muffler shop or a local welding shop. I see a ton of them everywhere around here.. Shouldn't be more than a couple bucks. Arrange it in advance so they don't bums-rush you out. You'll need time to clean up the frame while there and then afterwards, time for the welds to cool and apply some paint to the ground areas.
If it's a nice day, after the welding, you can just do all the rest in the parking lot outside their shop. It's not that tough, just gotta find a welder.
Sounds good, forgot, have neighbor whose nephew works for construction & trucking co. that could help. I think I'll be ringing Greg's phone real soon. I'll be sure to mention this site lead me to them. I'll read thru your link again.
Odd, I had to answer door, when I returned I refreshed this page and I could see your sig (not signed in, timed out), after I logged back in it was gone.
Yeah.. read the thread and the follow up posts.. It handles better.. It almost feels like there's a sway bar back there now... Really planted the truck.. Cornering is more "point and shoot" with no "loping" now... I get in another Titan without them and feel it instantly... Some don't know what I'm talking about until they ride in my truck... It's definitely a totally different feel...
BB, when you wrote this about bars, was that the only suspension mod on the truck at that time? If so, getting my cc out as I speak.
When I did that, I had the whole thing installed. The traction bars were the last piece of the puzzle. But even with the SAW's front and rear, this was extremely noticable. They made a big difference, trust me.
But they will work with the stock shocks or any other as well, with similar results, I'd expect. It's all about each part doing the job it's designed to do and ONLY that job it is designed to do. When springs need to do double or triple duty, and share those duties with shocks to keep the truck straight, the ride and handling are compromised. They are all team players but don't really want to be.
if I was to start all over again from stock suspension, I would go with the traction bars as my first mod, then add the rest later... but like BB had done, make sure when you get the traction bar mount welded, leave enough thread in/out if you plan on lifting or lowering so you can adjust it without having to grind the mounts and relocate it...

BB, I'm confused, which is nothing unusual, What do mean when you say "But even with the SAW's front and rear, this was extremely noticeable" and go on to say "They made a big difference, trust me" are you talking about the "SAW's" or the bars making the difference? Which mod made the difference your referring too? If I read into what you wrote earlier about each item doing its own thing as they should be, then I really shouldn't expect a sway/roll improvement with just bars. Sorry to beat a dead horse, but looking for best bang for buck with sway/roll cornering, but am also concerned with the wrap. I'm ok if bars only fix wrap and traction, just not sure if your saying the bars with do more than that and help with sway/roll.
Thanks for post DRTYAZN, good advice with thread in/out and if starting from scratch "bars first", its helping me reach ever closer to wallet and phone.
I meant, if Balthusar sees his shadow, then there is 6 more millenium of darkness in the Great Azarian Forest on the planet Sphincter!
The traction bars made a big difference in how the truck handled. That was noticable even after I installed the SAW's. So, taking everything else out of the equation, the bars helped a lot!
Now, the SAW's made a noticable improvement over the stock shocks in the ride and bump return. So they made a difference, but in a different department than the traction bars.
And finally, yes, with JUST the bars, they will help even the stock suspension components do what they are supposed to and not make them multitask. So you should feel a difference with just the bars on a stock suspension....
Sorry to add to the confusion.. next time I'll respond in binary....

.... wait a minute.... now how is it possible for Balthusar to be able to even have a remote chance of seeing his shadow since the stupid forest is already covered in eternal darkness anyways???
just get them bars, you won't regret it...
