They fit fine on a stock truck. The front struts will allow you to adjust almost +2 inches in the front.

No you can use these with non-lifted trucks. For the second question do a search and you will find the answers. As for MY answer to the second question: I had the perch set at the first setting of 1" which actually turned out to be about 7/8". I have an 08.5 and I am torn between switching it back to 0" or keeping it. I liked the slight front rake I had before but now it's level and it just doesn't look right to me. Maybe I need to drink more?

i have a level kit on mine now and it still sits a little low in front can i use the shocks with that and maybe have the front sit an inch higher than the back?
So which direction would you go keep the leveling kit on and get other bilstein shocks. or take leveling kit off and add 2" that way with the 5100 bilstein.
It depens on the height of the spacer. If the spacer lift is 1.5" or less...then you can combine the 5100 series on the LOWER (1" ) setting, which works great. But 2" or more leveling kit can be use with the 5100 or HD but at stock ride height but a taller bumpstop is mandatory. Trying to combine a 2 0r 2.5" leveling kit and setting the bilsteins on any of the lift settings will result in probelms like this:
You can add a new UCA but the sway bar would either have to be removed or aftermarket endlinks made. This cant be stressed enough, LIFTS CANNOT BE COMBINED. unless you want to do some expensive testing.

FWIW - I have the 5100's being shipped to me right now (front & rear). I received my 2" leveling kit last week. I will be installing the 5100's in the front set at 0" of lift. I will let the spacers level the truck. I have read, and been told, too much information about the detriment to the ride quality when the springs are pre-loaded.
