Re: 2" lowering shackles?

I just installed these PRG shackles. Very subtle, slightly over an inch drop, you really don't directly notice it, it just takes that nose dive look away. However, I'm a 2007 and I hear the 2008's ride a little more level form the factory. You really can't do any more than these shackles do, you are approaching the bottom of the bed with these. Here's a shot with the shackles in the fully lowered position. Easy to install, by the way. Just jack up one side at a time to just where the tire is barely touching the ground, pop off two bolts, slap new shackle in, move to other side, repeat.

Re: 2" lowering shackles?

IIRC, PRG called BS on the Ebay 2" drop shackles because you would need to cut a hole in the bed to clear them if the shackles were long enough to provide a full 2" drop. I wouldn't recommend just pulling a leaf as you will probably get axle wrap from hell.

Re: 2" lowering shackles?

Here is a picture of mine with PRG shackles set to the lowest setting, a leaf removed, and the Roadmaster Active Suspension installed. The shackles and the leaf brought it down... and the RAS brought it back up about 3/4" AND gave me back some of that capacity lost by removing the leaf. It also acts like both traction and sway bars. Ohhh... and change out those lame rear shocks!!!

I also brought the front down a tad with the adjustable coilovers.

You can do just the shackles, but I don't think they will buy you more than 3/4" - 1" by themselves. Bottom line... there is no "easy button" for this one.

Good luck to you.
