planned 2wd PRG lift - few questions / pics of old lift for entertainment ;)

Ok, so two years later after selling the truck and bimmer, I am finally getting a titan and am planning out the lift which I plan to purchase within the next few weeks

Now, I plan to run an 18x9" wheel w/ 4.5" BS and will probably go w/ a LT305/70R18 Mickey Thompson ATZ as I had a set of 40's on the Chevy and they were quiet and had excellent tread wear (((open to suggestions))).

With this in mind, I plan to do the PRG 2wd performance spindle lift w/ the upgraded Radflo remote reservoirs in the rear (((based my decision on the fact that the only time the truck will go off road is when taking out the dirt bikes in which the sway-a-way give a stiffer ride))) but am open to suggestions if someone can convince me the sway-a-way coilvers (front & rear) are better for normal every day driving conditions?

Now this is where the real question comes in. I like the stuffed tire look as well as the SoCal stance (rear sits about 1-1.5" lower than front), and want the lowest lift possible while still clearing the 35's and having no rubbing issues. With this being said, can I just run the C-30 deaver leaf spring pack in the rear w/ no block and get away w/ it? If so, will the front be fine w/ no issues being adjusted to sit only 1-1.5" taller (I can do the pinch weld mod if needed)?

Thanks in advance,

Dave

***for giggles, I have attached a couple pics of my previous 05 Chevy 2500HD w/ a 12" Cognito lift on 40's***

***Last two pics give you an idea of how tall this truck was [girl in pic is 5'6"]***

Re: planned 2wd PRG lift - few questions / pics of old lift for entertainment ;)

After doing some more research, it looks like I will be fine. If you can clear 33" tires w/ just a front leveling kit and no modifications to the rear, I would easily clear 35's in the rear w/ a lift of 2.5" provided by just the deaver springs. Up front, being that I want to sit about 1" higher than the rear, I would be looking at about 6" lift total, in which I have read threads where you can clear 35's with just the 4" CST spindles.

So, I think it all comes down to the wheel size / backspacing in my case, correct me if im wrong? If so, I might rub being that the recommended wheel is 8" w/ 5" backspacing where as my 9" wide wheel with 4.5" backspacing will set the front of the wheel/tire out an additional 1.5" correct? thus, possibly rubbing in full turns...

Ya, I talked w/ you about your kit over a year ago, lol! you have a 4x4 though in which I believe the deavers give you an extra 1" for 3.5" total, no? Either way, I am pretty positive I will be fine...

I clear 35"x12.50"s on 10" wide rims with 1.5" blocks for the rear no problem, even at full flex they tuck into the fender wells and don't hit.

Ha that's been a while ago. I still think the diesels are the best looking wheel out there (with the exception of some of the true beadlocks).

There was a guy on the forums running 35's with no lift in the rear at all. it might have rubbed a little though. . .

ya, we talked back in july of 07, lol. I ended up getting an 08 BMW 335i coupe instead of the titan

Now back then you said you had slight rub in the front, right? Did you fix this by raising it up a bit or did you end up getting glass fenders like you were talking about? How bad was the rubbing?

I ended up putting glass on the front. Some more preload would have easily fixed it too but I plan on eventually doing the PRG Mid Travel kit so I was gonna need the fenders anyway.

Wheels are the biggest issue in mounting/clearing 35" tires...A 9" wheel with a 4.5bs might just still rub a little in the front with just a spindle lift...The PWM looks requiered for your app....I ran 34.5" tires on stock wheels & PWM - just spacer lift in front and cleared.

Going with Radflos? No reason to try and talk you out of them and switching to SAW's because nothing wrong with Radflos....
