Ugly rusted spindles...fixed!

I know this is pretty random, but I've been sick of seeing my rusty spindles when I look at my truck.
I can only imagine that everyone with the procomp lift has the same problem, so I figured I would share.
Today my order of POR-15 arrived, so I fixed 'em! Here's a before and after pic. I went with semi-gloss since I didn't see a flat black, but they can be painted over with the right steps. They are still wet in the pic, and the shine has already gone down quite a bit. My brother-in-law has used this stuff for a long time and I've seen it work...great stuff! For those not familiar, it is basically a sealant that can be painted directly on rust.

Nice work!

Any chance you have a photo of something that you painted a long time ago? I have been wanting to attack the whole bottom of the truck for a while, but lazyness has gotten the better of me.
I tried the Rust-o-leum version in spots, and the rust was back in a few months.

Re: Ugly rusted spindles...fixed!

grnTitan04-
Sorry, I don't. This is the 1st time I've ever used it. My brother-in-law is a big-time mopar guy and he's used it a ton on some of his projects, and he swears by it so I decided to give it a try. He gets rid of everything he does for a new project, and the oldest thing I saw was a section of frame on a Challenger R/T that he had done. It was about 1.5 yrs old and looked like new.
I did NOT put a top coat on my spindles, and POR-15's website strongly suggests it if it's going to be exposed to the sun in order to keep the color. I figure it won't get much, and don't really care if it fades, as long as it's not rust. The stuff if expensive, but I bought a "6-pack" of 4oz cans. I BARELY touched 1 can to do these spindles, next on my list is my PC traction bars, but figure I'll wait until it warms up.

I've been wondering if our bumpers and other part are the type that "rust to a point" a lot lately....

just put a new front bumper on and it seemed to have some sort of coating on it, either to keep it from rusting during shipping and storage, or maybe to keep it from rusting. it was black in color...
