why different pre-load to level front?

I had my extended length SAW's and PRG upper control arms installed last week. They were set at 2'' of pre-load, but the ride was too stiff, so I dropped them both to 1 +3/4". I forgot to measure before hand, but afterward the drivers side was sitting 3/4" higher. I don't expect it to be exact from side to side, but closer than that. So I re-adjusted, the drivers side now is set at 1+7/8", and the passenger side is at 1+5/8". The passenger side though is still 1/4" higher, even though there is 1/4" less pre-load on that side. My concern with this is it seemed like going from 2" to 1+3/4" made a huge difference in how the truck handled, not nearly as stiff. I would like nearly the same pre-load on each shock so that they are both functioning the same. You guys got any ideas? Is there anything else that could effect ride height?(tire pressure is identical)

Put a thousand miles or so on it and recheck.. You will also want the drivers side a little higher for fuel load and your weight in the truck..

Re: why different pre-load to level front?

It's a progressive load. Moving the ring up 1" may only give you 1/2" of lift but going from 1" to 2" may give you a total of 1.5" of lift. I'm sure there is a math formula that could explain this better (or worse if you don't like math).
