Re: Just installed 3" Rough Country Lift

Your truck looks great. I have been thinking about getting the same kit and just using the control arms. I don't really want to deal with heim joints (prg arms) on my daily driver and I'm tired of coil bucket clunk...

Did they tell you what type of balljoint is used?

Re: Just installed 3" Rough Country Lift

thanks man. yea I dont have any coil bucket clunks yet, I literally tried to make it hit the other day and I didnt hear anything haha. I dont really know what kind of balljoint is used. I just know that you can regrease it which is pretty convenient. Truly, I wouldnt trade this kit for the PRG kit at all. Yes the PRG kit is nice, but this serves the same exact purpose and its just as strong

Did you measure the actual amount of the lift after the install? Was it right at 3"?

Re: Just installed 3" Rough Country Lift

Well since u have 17 inch rims and both our tires are 70's, wouldn't that mean that mine are taller since my rims are 18's? Um the rims and tires will be here Thursday I think but I leave for another snowmobile trip out to Colorado on thursday so I won't be able to put them on till I get back I didnt get an actual measurement before the lift but my front end was sagging pretty badly so I know I got the full 3 inches out of it that sounded dirty haha

Re: Just installed 3" Rough Country Lift

well u can add a 1 inch block in the rear if u want. Just so u know, the mini lift will still have a front end rake. It wont actually level it out. Yea it should look real mean with the new rims and tires. I ordered the lift through rough countrys website because it was the same exact price on ebay so I just went through them. Took 2 business days to get it

It kinda looks like the back of your truck sits down more then 1" though.. Dont know if the 1" block will make it level. I want next to no rake lol.

According to the tire size calculator at red rock 4x4 a 265/70/18 = 32.6/10.4, and a 285/70/17 = 32.7/11.2, so they should be about the same, i think the offroad package has rancho coilovers so maybe thats the difference

Re: Just installed 3" Rough Country Lift

I have delt with rough country a few times and Dave is great to deal with. I put their kits on a few rigs and used alot of their parts on a rubicon. Trever on the ROA forum used to work for Dave and has the x series kit on his rubi and I have seen him run it where long travel kits are going. They are getting a much better product out there these days trying to make a NEW and Improved name.......
