Thumbs up Just installed 3" Rough Country Lift

Hey guys, I ordered up a Rough Country lift last saturday and it came in the other day so tonight I finally got around to installing it. To be honest, this is one really nice kit. Everyone was talking about how cheezy it looked, well let me tell you, this thing is built pretty tough. Im not mad about the purchase AT ALL. The install took about 3.5 hours (it probably helps that my dad is a golf cart mechanic and im a motorcycle mechanic). Everything went smooth. The directions say you have to do some griding of ur coil bucket, but mine didnt rub so i didnt have to do any grinding at all.

After the install, I actually had to kinda hop up into my seat instead of stepping right in. its such a great feeling to have a truck that has a good stance now. The thing drives great, it has a way different feel to it now and it feels like an actual truck from the inside now. Im soo happy with this kit. The pictures are the ones from tonight, but in 7 days I have my new rims and tires coming in which will make this thing one bad*** ride!

BTW- I have 325/65/18 Nitto Terragrapplers coming in for it, and a set of black, Ultra Magnus wheels. it will look real sharp once i get some of the chrome off of it. If anyone is interested to trade some of your black pieces for my chrome pieces, let me know

Re: Just installed 3" Rough Country Lift

Looks good let us know how it rides and post some pics when you get the new rubber on it. Are you going to add a block to the rear or are you keeping the prerunner look. Also could you take some measurements I want to know what the height diff is between the front and back.

Re: Just installed 3" Rough Country Lift

I'd be very curious as to how this kit holds up offroading, but seeing that you got 22" wheels i'm assuming you don't offroad much. Keep us updated on how the performs for you......

Re: Just installed 3" Rough Country Lift

thanks guy. ya i think im going to add the one inch block sometime but not at the moment. I will get some measurements once i get home from work.

I dont do much offroading since im in Iowa but I use a truck for what its supposed to be used for- hauling stuff and hunting so the kit will get its abuse. I have 22 inch rims right now but those are for sale because im putting new rims and tires on it.

You might be able to fit them with the right wheel offset, there are guys on here runnin 35's with a 2.5 and pinch weld, but most ive seen where the off road package( i dont know if it matters), but you've prob got a better chance being 4x4

Re: Just installed 3" Rough Country Lift

the wheels have +10 offset which is 5 3/8 backspacing. do you think they will fit or not haha. cuz i dont want to get the tires in and have to order new ones. there are 2 choices of backspacing for these rims i guess. there are the first ones that i said, and +25 offset which is a 6" backspace. i dont know what my dealer ordered, but either one should fit correct?

Re: Just installed 3" Rough Country Lift

and for RU2112SH: the measurements from floor to the bottom of fender are Front: 39.5 inches Back: 38.75 inches. the front sits 3/4 of an inch taller, but by looking at it, you cant tell. looking at the side it looks perfectly level. its so awesome. i love it

Re: Just installed 3" Rough Country Lift

Not really sure on exactly what backspacing you need but i would imagine that the closer to stock you are the better off you will be, My guess, and let me stress my GUESS would be that unless the wheels are just crazy wide you should have minimal rubbing with the pinch weld mod.

Re: Just installed 3" Rough Country Lift

my fender sits 46" and i had to lift them from 44" to fit my 35" and i have a -12 offset. if the rims are not much wider then stock and have the offset close to the oem rims you might be ok.

That's about the same as my T sat when I bought it. At first I thought it was fine. But after a while I really started to notice the differance and finally decided to buy a cheap 1 1/2" block for the rear.

Now when I look at it I don't feel that the rear is saging anymore.

Re: Just installed 3" Rough Country Lift

You might be able to fit them if you run a + offset, but you need to make sure that with the tire on you will clear the spindle/UCA. - offset will put the tire into the fender while turning. Kit looks good on the truck also
