Re: Bilstein 5100 on lowered titan
I'm subcribing. I have been heavily looking at the Bilstiens myself. I had decided on the BST Heavy Duty, but I've heard good reviews about the 5100's (and saw the buy 3 get one free deal). It was my impression that the 5100's are for stock or 2" lift in the front/1" lift in the back Titans. I wonder if they are both just as good as each other. Remember your going to save about $32 on the BST's anyway cause they are about $8 cheaper per shock. I like to race so I wonder which is better for streetable performance.

Re: Bilstein 5100 on lowered titan
The front is not a problem, with a 4" drop in the rear you should look for a shorter length shock. Greg at PRG hooked me up with Bilstein 5125s with 21" extended length. They are the same size shock from an Xterra, and all he did was change the eye of the shock to fit the Titan.

He was originally telling me he got the 5100's, then he said he got which ever ones were cheaper, and the HD's a slightly cheaper.

Paul got the yellow HD's Steve. It sure was fun helping him do the install TWICE and in the cold!!! LOL It does seem to ride better but Paul's also replacing OEM struts with almost 70K miles. Our stock struts seem to be really poor quality anyway, so upgrading is a good thing.

Re: Bilstein 5100 on lowered titan
Yeah I've got 51k and the last 21k has been on washboard dirt roads, so I'm sure mine are shot out too. I think I will be going with the HD's too

Whats funny is that Greg (PRG) said that our stock stuff almost instantly starts foaming as soon as we drive off the lot!! Just POS struts and shocks!

Re: Bilstein 5100 on lowered titan
Does anyone else have an opinion on this? I am still unsure whether to get the HD or the 5100 series Bilstein's. I have the McGauphy's 2/3 drop with PRG shackles which makes 2/4 overall. My goal is to eliminate the front end from bottoming out all the time.

Do you had Belltech shocks on your truck before? Your sig says you have the 5100s...how do you like them.
