bilstein is offering buy 3 get on free on there shocks right now.i wanted the hd for the front and rear but there not buy 3 get 1 free on the hd only 5100 series.will the 5100 series work on a 2-4 drop
I'm subcribing. I have been heavily looking at the Bilstiens myself. I had decided on the BST Heavy Duty, but I've heard good reviews about the 5100's (and saw the buy 3 get one free deal). It was my impression that the 5100's are for stock or 2" lift in the front/1" lift in the back Titans. I wonder if they are both just as good as each other. Remember your going to save about $32 on the BST's anyway cause they are about $8 cheaper per shock. I like to race so I wonder which is better for streetable performance.
the ones i bought are good... they ride REALLY well also. havn't really tested them out yet, but i just know my truck doesn't bottom out anymore... can't go wrong with Bilsteins...

do u have the 5100" or hd's and i see in your sig u have a mg 2/3 drop
The front is not a problem, with a 4" drop in the rear you should look for a shorter length shock. Greg at PRG hooked me up with Bilstein 5125s with 21" extended length. They are the same size shock from an Xterra, and all he did was change the eye of the shock to fit the Titan.

He was originally telling me he got the 5100's, then he said he got which ever ones were cheaper, and the HD's a slightly cheaper.
Paul got the yellow HD's Steve. It sure was fun helping him do the install TWICE and in the cold!!! LOL It does seem to ride better but Paul's also replacing OEM struts with almost 70K miles. Our stock struts seem to be really poor quality anyway, so upgrading is a good thing.
Does anyone else have an opinion on this? I am still unsure whether to get the HD or the 5100 series Bilstein's. I have the McGauphy's 2/3 drop with PRG shackles which makes 2/4 overall. My goal is to eliminate the front end from bottoming out all the time.
