Re: Guess what I'll be doing this weekend... *Teaser*

Well guys, I ran into some major technical issues while installing the MT kit. I started off with the right front. Took all the existing hardware from the prg uca I already had and put it on the MT uca like I was told. Went to put it back on and it was a no go. With the spacers in it wasn't going to fit. I didn't feel comfortable trying to force it in to slide the bolt thru. My guess is that the spacers from the old prg uca are not the correct one's I should be using for the MT uca???? I'm kinda upset because I was forced to put the old stuff back on. Anyone using the MT kit run into this issue? Should I have gotten different spacers for the MT uca?

Are you saying you used the rod ends from the old PRG arm and installed them onto the new MT arms?
Or did you just try to use the rod end spacers from the old arms?

Didn't the new arms come with all the hardware you would need?

Greg told me I use the existing hardware from the old prg uca on the new MT uca. I had no problem popping out the uniball and dropping it in the MT uca. But when I went to bolt it back on with everything else on the uca it wouldn't fit. At first I thought the jig on the MT uca was off and not wide enough, but it didn't look too off. So that is why I think the rod end spacers are different. Like I said I didn't want to force it but still nevertheless upset.

Re: Guess what I'll be doing this weekend... *Teaser*

If you took one of the rod ends that normally gets threaded into the upper arm off the arm, will it along with the spacers fit into the the upper arm frame mount?

I'm trying to see if it's just the spacer, or did the arm "move" sometime during fabrication...

I tried taking all the hardware off the rod ends and the uca still looks like its a tight fit. Although it might work with thinner spacers??? Tried to call PRG today, no answer...guess i gotta wait and see....

How tight?....You might need to spread the frame ears just a bit to get the rod end & spacers in...They may have crushed a bit the first time....

The frame ears didn't look bent or anything and I didn't want to force it. It was either spread the frame ears, take a chance on forcing it in a spreading the uca or seeing if different spacers would do the trick. I'm getting more and more bummed out. At first I was pissed, now I'm bummed. Can't really do anything until Greg calls me back.

Re: Guess what I'll be doing this weekend... *Teaser*

Did you throw a set of calipers on the new & old rod ends to check their width?
The upper arms came with new rod ends on them but no spacers?....BTW your lack of photos is alarming...

Re: Guess what I'll be doing this weekend... *Teaser*

ok, my MT arms came with the uniballs, rod ends and spacers. although i had someone install the kit for me, i was told he had to spread the arm apart to get it in position. he put one side in and used a prybar to force it open a bit. said it was a real pain in the butt though. hope this helps

Thank you for the helpful info! I'm gonna take the high road on this one and just take it somewhere to have it installed.
