I think it may have been attempted before. Try searching around on here and see if you can find it. Not undoable but it will be quite a project for sure.
Lots of things youll need, new ECU, all the diffs and axle, transfer case, the cool sticker and plenty of other things. I think RTC(forget the rest of his name) had a thread about this.

Not trying to be a smart@ss but it would be a lot easier and probably less expensive to trade for a 4x. But if you want to just take on the project then good luck man! Your truck will be one of a kind. I would love to see a SAS titan!

and I agree that a trade in would be a lot easier. But then again you might lose money on the trade so you might be able to do a sas and still be better off. Good luck man. Pics as it progresses please.

Yea if your going to turn your truck into a 4x4 dont waste your time with the factory ifs. Get a straight axle and donts waste your time with the stock transfer case either go ahead and get a atlas case. You could probably get away without getting a new ECU if you run manual controls for the transfer case.

the op can. i have done a butt load of research on the 2wd to 4wd w/out sas. if you go 4wd and want to run ifs it isnt that bad if you have a lift already installed. kinda a pita if you are still stock. all the ecu, tcu, and swithches are plug and play. the cut out is already in the dash and the lights are already wired up. if you dont want the stock transfer case get an atlas like yamatitan said. i think it is the 3202 or something like that. it will bolt up with and adapter plate and you can use tin snips and cut the floor board out for the selector knob. any questions ask away.

Its going to be a lot more expensive to do a ifs then it will be to do SAS.

thanks alot for all the suggestions its gonna be awhile to do all this because im going to be ballin on a budget but i'll be sure to keep everyone posted for sure.
I'd go with the atlas transfer case... It's expensive but If you have a bench seat It'd be sicker than **** IMO to have a manual shift transfer case.
The TCU isn't plug and play you'll have to swap the wiring harness out. I spoke with another member, the same guy who bypassed the e-locker in 4lo about wiring the transfer case seperate from everything and shifting it with a set of switches. He beleives it's possible, a elec guru buddy of mine feels it's possible also but no t-case in my garage as of yet so...
Everything else bolts right up but without a bracket lift you'll need to either fabricate on your own or order from a dealer tabs to mount the front diff carrier assembly. I spoke with an e-bay seller and he was willing to cut me a package deal for everything even the ECU and order the tabs from the stealership for me I shut him down though before he made the effort to total it all up because I simply dont have the $ I was just trying to get some info out of him about some parts he had listed and mentioned what I was up too lol.
