I have at 2 inch leveling kit and have been noticing my lights blazing into peoples back windows at stop lights. I wonder if there is a rule of thumb on light level adjustment. I'd hate to get pulled over for something silly at the wrong time and get nailed for something serious.
Does anyone know the laws in this area? PRG didnt mention anything about re-adjusting headlights. Common sense says of course lights are aimed higher since front end sits higher. Has anyone been hasseled over this?
Just a thought...

I haven't been hastled but I had Blavis adjust my head and fog lights at the meet in NC this year. I was following him and he noticed my blazing into his mirror and suggested we fix that. Since he's a Nissan tech it went rather quickly. Beer was consumed and a good time was had by all!
It's an easy adjustment. Pop the hood and you'll find what I seem to remember being an 8mm adjustment screw on the top of the headlight housing. Shine your lights on a wall or garage door and adjust them down a little bit. Take it out and see if it's better and continue the adjustment until you get it right.

But with your lift, did you change the "rake" on it? If he did just the level kit, bringing the front up, they would be out of whack and an adjustment would be in order. Mine needed a little tweaking when I put the mini lift on.

Yes I did a little. The 4x4 Armadas seem to come mostly level. After installing my SAWs, my front was about 1.25" higher than the rear. I have it down now where the front is only 1/4"-1/2" higher than the rear now depending on where the Rear Load-Leveling System decided to settle that day.
I know that's alot less than 2.5" of rake change but the end result is pretty close to the same. So i guess it'd come into question if the Titan and Armada headlights are set the same at the factory or not.
Awesome, i'll try to adjust them with the 8mm bolt you mention. Honestly, i had not even looked for a bolt just yet. I really just noticed it on my way to work this morning. The poor lady had to move all her mirrors, lol.
The leveling kit makes me smile everytime I walk to my truck! It makes a night and day difference.
Thanks guys!

Just to be sure, the leveling kit raised the front end right?
What are the guidelines for adjusting headlights? I remember adjusting the old school lights with screws, we'd pull 'em up to a shop door but hell if I can remember what we were trying to get done. I feel my headlights shine low to be honest, so I'd like to raise them a bit.
Yea I need to get on this too, I dont drive that much at night but the other night I had a test at LSU and on the way home I was blinding everyone. I felt kinda bad....

Basicly, that's it....The ole' garage door alignment trick...Just lower them a bit at a time, useing the garage door to make sure both rt & lt are the same height...Also remember when you lower them down the light get's a little brighter....and you can use your hi-beams again...
