clunking after leveling kit install

It's driving me nuts, not sure where it is coming from and it doesn't do it all the time. This morning I was backing into a parking spot and heard it yesterday was stopped and made a sharp turn and it did it? Anyone else have a similar problem? Please give me some ideas what it could be?

Make sure you installed some Spring Washers on the spacer's bolts. If you didn't, they might be slipping around a little inside the coil buckets. If you installed a 2.5" lift on a 4x4, your UCA might be hitting the coilbucket. You might also check your sway bar endlinks to make sure you didn't leave one loose.

I have the same problem I have heard that shaving the coilbucket down is an option. My question is how much is enough and should it be just where there is contact or most of the coilbucket?

Re: clunking after leveling kit install

If you're hitting the coilbucket, which should only be happening on droop, you'd be able to see the wear/impact points on both the UCA and the coil bucket.

To the OP. Did you get the toe aligned after the install? It might be binding up if not.

There shouldn't be any noises from UCA contact unless the suspension is trying to go through more travel. Sitting still and turning like you describe shouldn't cause any UCA contact.

It's really weird it's not doing it at any specific point. It doesn't do it much, I've heard when I was backing up on a flat surface turning the front wheels. Yes, I did get an alignment after the kit.
