bilstein 5100 with rc 3"

has anyone installed bilstwin 5100 with the rc 3'' kit. I am in the middle of the install and have a problem with severe arm to coil bucket interference and not on the lip. you can see in the photos where the tube is hitting the busket on the front upper side. I suspect that the bilstein has a longer overall assembled length than stock

Thats strange I have the Bilsteins set at 1" lift, and at full droop I don't have any contact.

that will not affect the problem. All the bilstein's positions do is change the preload of the spring. the assembled height of the shock assembly from the top spring mount plate to the lower shock mount will always be the same regardless of the clip grove position. Moving the clip compress the spring more or less. This picture is the suspension toped out all the way wheels off the ground. We calculated the spacer length and I will need a 1.125'' spacer not the 1.5'' the kit has in it RC sent me the smaller spacer today and i will install it this week.I do not know if all titans have this problem buy my truck is a 2005 4x4 with 2008 prox4 front springs and bilstein 5100 front shocks on lowest amount of spring preload

Re: bilstein 5100 with rc 3"

I was not able to use the 3" spacer on my Pro-4X with the Rancho's or the 5100's. I had coil bucket contact too.

Re: bilstein 5100 with rc 3"

Well now im going to have a problem, plan B i guess... Kyle what spacer is RC sending you the 2" ? Does that mean you can get up to 2" of lift by compressing the spring more with the spring perch on the shock ?

Re: bilstein 5100 with rc 3"

So is the 2" RC spacer 1.125" ? I know the PRG 2" spacer is 1.25" and the RC's are normally a pinch smaller than the PRG.

Yes the ride height of the truck will go up when you preload the spring more yet the topped out height will not change I think that the bilsteins with max preload will have a poor ride the combo I have with 08 pro 4x springs and the bills set at 0 seems really good, nice ride ,good damping and not a lot of sag when the truck is set down. All my measurements are based around the uca hitting the bucket before the suspension tops out.The uca hitting the bucket is very destructive when you bottom the suspension the bump stop help decelerate the movement. There is no top out bump stop accept for the upper shock mount if the uca hits the chasis before the shock stops there is an incredible shear load applied to the system and the weakest part will fail. if it is still close with the shorter spacer then i will install limiter straps
