Do you have the temp controls set on A/C or defrost at start up? Mine did that until I turned those things off before shutting down the engine. When those things were off I got no strange sound at start up.

I believe it has done it no matter what the HVAC settings are, I'll check in the morning to be sure. Either way, it doesn't sound like something that should be occuring, and I shouldn't have to adjust my settings to avoid it.

Hey all,

I checked with my Nissan Dealer, they said that the 6 disk in dash CD changer is basically an elevator inside, and what you hear after you turn off the car is the six different levels "parking" themselves. I am not saying this is gospel, but I used to be heavy into mobile audio, I had about $20,000 in equiptment in a 1994 Tbird as a sound show car,and to be honest it makes sence and that is where I hear the sound coming from on my Titan.

The only sound I hear is my brother's Silverado finally catching up to me.

When the 350Z first came out a salesmen told me that the car was so air tight that there was a vent that opened so you could shut the doors easier. Maybe this is related to something like that. I hate to quote a saleman though. My Titan makes the noise too.

Man the last thing i hear is my 305 HP motor shutting down.

On the other note it sounds like this noise is common among the titan's. This truck have more rattles and squeaks then any other truck that i have owned but it has alot of HP and it's huge inside the cab that is why i own this truck. If we wanted the quietest cab in there class the F150 was rated for that. and that truck is awful.

comment on the noise after turning off your truck, depending on how your truck is set up (model) you are hearing the retained power relays turning off ex. after your key is turned off a timer starts you still have power to your windows and various other components until 1 you open the door or 2 the time runs out on the timer. when the time runs out on the timer the computer starts shutting things off and you hear the relays turning off. your dealer can adjust retained power settings by useing the consult scantool however this is limited usually to off or on depending on model. any ?'s you can shoot me an e-mail intruder8000@juno.com

Talking

I think it's the adjustable foot pedals retracting back to their default position.

My Nissan service center said they will replace the heater fan. The other noise is said to be from the evaperator vent valve which they say is normal (not). I do see the guages jump up for a second too after sitting in the truck for a few minutes after shut off! Strange stuff I will be writing the manufacturer about. If most do this, we can get a recall going to fix the problems.

Re: Sound after you turn the ignition off

I've been noticing this noise since i bought my truck new in '04.
With a base model, no power options KC XE, i will rule out just about every possibility on this forum for the noice except the 6 disk CD player, or the AC/ventalation noises.
All the other options listed I wouldnt hear, because i dont have them.
