I thought it was quiet in my bike but after the Rotella T Syn change it's not as quiet as I thought.
I take it your running the 5W40 Rotella like wally world sells, I have been considering that oil, Rotella makes great oil and at a great price. I currently run Shell products now the Shell Formula 5w30.

Yes, I will post the results after 5k miles since I haven't seen any for it yet. I'm impressed with it in the Titan so far.
I run Amsoil in the front and rear differentials and transfer case. But I put Mobil 1 in the engine. Been running Mobil 1 and Fram filters for over 20 years. Engines run better than new even after 150,000 miles. Guess I am kind of a cheapskate. I don't want to spend $8 a quart on Amsoil when I can get Mobil 1 for $3.99. I change oil every 3000/3 months.
I run Amsoil Racing oil at 50:1 in the dirt bikes.
Just switched to Mobile 1 from Imperial (Exxon?) . Changed @ 24km then redid @32km. Dealer thought I was NUTS, but, Ive had issues with synthetic shyte. In the cold weather I'm already convinced that this 5w30 WORKS! My only concern is that when, after 10k down the road the truck "feels" sluggish. Then gets better. It's my seat of the pants thing, but I've been a licensed mechanic since '67. I listen to my senses, and yes they ALL WORK! So far my gas mileage is up by 10%! Can't complain about that. I will keep every body informed, including analyses readings. Thats why my dealer thinks I'm NUTS!!!
By the way Mobile 1 @ my dealership is $8.80/litre Canadian. Still using Nissan filter strictly because of flow characteristics and cleaning attributes.
I use havoline 10w30 and Nissan oil filter every 4000 miles and rotate/balance at the same time. I currently have 21000 miles on my 04 and it runs like the day I bought it. I have always used Havoline and it has always been good to my engines. Oil barely changes color after 4000 miles. Feels nice and smooth with no grit. Engine runs nice and quiet with no piston/valve noise.
I sure hope my solid rocket boosters don't malfunction due to poor viscosity while still strapped to my CC. I'll be splattered all over the gulf coast for sure.......
Its what they use to make the smoke that comes out of the rocket! ahhhderr

0w/40 has the best film potection of any oil, just my own blend. factory oil will go 4k with no problems, 0w/40 syn just gives it more muscle. when ever i use full synthetic only, my vehicles make more noise,

I did my first synthetic today---Royal Purple 5W30-----Time will tell how it performs. I took it out for a spin after changing and seem to be able to tell difference already. It seems to be more responsive and runs smoother/tighter. My last 2 changes have been free at a local shop (used 10W30 conventional) so I'm sure RP will rock compared to what I've been used to. I got a good deal on it too-local PepBoys-$5.39.(cheapest I found anywhere around Gulf Coast ( AL/MS/FL)
There are at least two other threads that discuss oil in depth. For your ease in searching they have had "stickies" applied to stay on top of the forum queue.
