Re: What Brand Oil Filter on your Titan

Using Amsoil EAO filter, claims the most filtration I have sceen from any manufacturer as well as efficiency. Up to 25,000 miles it says, although I have always replaced by 7k.

Going to send in an analysis this week with 68xx miles on my oil. Last time the report said I could have gone longer (6749 miles) but the oil was approaching the end of it's life (Addatives scored a 2) , this is before the revamped amsoil oil and filter were out...On their old filters they did not make these crazy claims.

I wont use Fram filters, only OEM if I'm in a pinch, but EAO FTMFW...

I stick with either Napa Gold/WIX
Or Mobil One.
occasionally a bosch if auto zone has one of them specials going for 5 quarts and a filter real cheap.

Re: What Brand Oil Filter on your Titan

I usually use OEM nissan oil filters. Last week I stopped at one of my local nissan dealers to purchase oil filters for my titan and sentra and was shocked when the invoice came out to over $21! When I looked at the invoice I found they were selling the oil filters for $8.50 each, I used to pay around $5 for the OEM filter, The $21 included the 2 filters and the 2 copper crush washers they always tape to the boxes, they don't even ask if you want them or not the washers are added to the price automaticaly.

I will continue to use the OEM filters but the local dealers can rot and I will be purchasing the filters from an online dealer, the one online dealer I checked so far had the filters for $5 although I did not inquire about shipping cost but I will probably order a few filters which should bring the price with shipping down and it will still be cheaper than the local dealers prices which include local sales tax.

Re: What Brand Oil Filter on your Titan

For those of you getting overcharged for the OEM filter at your local dealer, courtesy parts sells them 10 for $55.

My wife's Pathfinder takes the same filter, so I had no problem buying 10. If you don't need 10 maybe find another Titan owner to split them?

They have the crush washers too.

I've used Courtesy to buy Nissan parts for years, and have never been let down. One order was missing an item and they shipped it out on my word after just a phone call. Returns/exchanges have been easy.

Back to oil changes, I've found this wrench to work far better than the cap, jaw or strap type.

http://www.hondadirectlineusa.com/st...1&ID=872154177

The wrench fits 2 1/2" filters only, but in my garage that fits everything, including the motorcycle. Works great!
