June's Truck of the Month - being discussed at Nissan Titan Forums in the Titan Talk Site Polls section.
I volunteered to organize a Truck of the Month contest where members will be able to submit a brief writeup on their truck and some pics. The last day for submissions will be May 22, 2005. At that time I will start a poll where everyone can vote to select a winner. At the end of the month, the winner will be announced, and ekool will put their truck in the banner you see at the top of the page.
Rules:
1. Submissions must be made on or before 5/22/2005.
2. Please include a brief writeup on your truck (a paragraph or two).
3. Please provide links for up to 3 pictures.
4. Please include a list of your mods (if any).
5. Please do not post to this thread unless you are submitting.
I apologize for the rough start in getting this going. If you have already submitted on the other thread, please make your corrections and post it here. Don't freak out over writing a paragraph or two about your truck, no one is going to count the number of words. I will make a submission of my truck to try and get this rolling.
To keep it tight, please post your comments about the submissions (or the contest) here:
I purchased my Titan in January of 2004. It has a build date of 12/18/2003. It has the bench seat and column shifter. My mileage is slightly over 13k, and I just changed the oil to the Mobil 1 synthetic that Squid recommended. I am using a Purolator Pure One oil filter. I haven't had any problems so far, other than the poor radio reception that has plagued many of the early production trucks. I rotated the tires when I changed the oil, and the brake pads and rotors still look very good. I knew very little about the Titan when I bought it, but I had a great deal of confidence in Nissan after owning three Frontiers, and one Altima. My wife picked out the Sedona color.
I haven't done a lot of mods, and for what seemed like years, there wasn't very much available in the early going. I started out with the AVS headlight covers, and ordered a factory hitch from Jamie, who is one of our sponsors. The bull bar was added just for looks, and a place to mount a real set of fog lights. Dual exhaust was something I also wanted, and the thread Sammy created was invaluable. The flowmasters are a little on the loud side, but most of the time I enjoy their rumble.
Mod List:
Nissan Hood Shield
AVS Projektorz
Westin Bull Bar
Piaa 520 Fog Lights
True Duals - Flowmaster 40's
Very nice truck. If I had to do it over again I would seriously consider Sadona. And the bull bar looks sharp. You have an understated yet noticable look with your mods. Good job!
Well, hell, I guess I'll be the first one to try this. I'm relatively new to the Titan - bought it just a couple of months ago. I came from an Avalanche to this. The AV was nice, but I never got used to the look. Anyway, I've done a fair amount of mods in the short time I've had her. First was painting the side steps black. I never liked the look of the grey color on the galaxy's. Also put in some interior LED's in the headliner so the kids could see in the back without blinding me with the dome lights. I added some Bushwackers that I wasn't sure I was going to keep after I got them on. They ended up being perfect though after the new wheels and tires went on. Let's see, oh, the Westin. I put that on soon after I got the truck. I didn't like the 2 predrilled holes on either side of the bar, so I drilled 3 of my own and installed some PIAA 40 series. That's probably my favorite ext. mod - love the way it turned out.
Haven't had any problems with it so far (only 4K miles though). I did have an issue when I was trying to install the PRG on the front. I had the control arm balanced on my knee while I was trying to get the strut back in. It was hot, and I was tired and the damn arm fell off my knee. When it did, I heard a sick sounding pop and was thinking, "man that can't be good". Looked underneath and sure enough there was fluid leaking all over the driveway. I had pulled the front driveshaft out. Not being a mechanical genius, I was pretty freaked out about it, but got some good advice from JetTech and it just popped back in.
Um so I guess that's about it. Do I need more words? ---- I'm looking for someone to take long walks on the beach with. Who enjoys talking under the moonlight and candlelite dinners. Who likes being spanked with my belt and wears latex. And the 'ho better know how to cook and get me a beer when I ask for it - I don't mean later, I mean right now winch -NOW.
And this one time at bandcamp.......

I’ve decided to show my support for HonderMotorsicklePagerDaddy and his new voluntary forum obsession. So this essay will detail the purchase, maintenance, and ownership of my Titan.
Back in August of 2001 while I was purchasing my 02 Frontier I mentioned to the Sales manager that it’s to bad that Nissan doesn’t build a full sized truck and he told me that they were, and that it should be in production in 2004. I told him that was great and that I would be back in 2004 to take a look.
Three years and 104,000 miles later it was time to trade the Frontier. I had been lurking at this site since April of 2004 so I knew that the Titan wasn’t a ¾ ton truck but from all the accolades I knew that it was something I had to see. As soon as I drove onto the lot I knew I had to have one. Picked her up on 08/11/04
She is a bottom line black XE 4X4 with the preferred package, drop in bed liner, mud flaps, floor mats, and tinted driver and passenger windows, and now has 28,000 miles on her. I live in the country on a dirt road so she seems to always be dirty.http://www.titantalk.com/gallery/sho...cat=500&page=7
I’ve been to the service department once and that was to have the radio and 4 lo light T.S.Bs done, along with the seatbelt recall. That’s it. I run all synthetic oils. The only change I’ve made to the truck is the addition of a stock hitch, Airhog air filter, and neoprene seat covers.
I purchased my 2004 Titan LE in March of 2004. I purchased it with every option except the nav and rear sonar. I have had a small handfull of problems with it but I am very happy with the truck and do not regret my purchase at all. As far as performance mods, I have none, yet, because those are a little harder to talk the wife int letting me get. For interior mods the only thing that I have is a single downward facing JL 10" W3 and it is all that I need.
For exterior mods I have the chrome tailgate trim, T-Rex billet grills, and a big set of chrome truck nuts. The suspention is modified with a 6" Fabtech lift, which I have been very happy with. And she is topped off with 325-50-22 Toyo Open Country's wrapped around 22x10 Gear wheels.
Hare are a few thumbs for you all to peek at.

I purchased my Titan in November of 2004. She has been a very fine truck that has brought many smiles to my lips. She only had 25 miles on her when I drove her off the lot to bring her home. I had it all planned out. I spent the weekend cleaning and getting her room ready and making sure I had all of the supplies one would need to make her new home as comfortable as possible (my wife called it “nesting”). I made room for her in the garage and everything, but the worst thing happened, you guessed it, she didn’t fit! Oh well, she’ll have to stay outside.
She now has about 12K miles and with the exception of the brake judder (twice repaired), she’s been trouble free and just as fun to drive today as the day I got her.
I still have a few mods planned, including a supercharger when it becomes available, new rims and tires and a Pro-Comp lift. But for now here is a list of what I’ve done.
Spintech Dual Exhaust with Magnaflow X Pipe & 3.5" SS Chrome Tips
4" Oval Side Steps by Aries (don't buy!)
Bed Extension Kit
XM Radio
Fram AirHog Drop-In Filter
Lund Hood Shield-Clear
Kleen Wheel Dust Shields
Undercover Tonneau Cover
35% Front window’s tint
This is my first brand new vehicle and I feel I could not have made a better choice.
I only hope that I get all 30K out of her.

Well, I already see a lot of nicer looking Titans here, but at a suggestion from another thread, I will post my Titan pics. A little background info, I bought it in June of 2004 as a 4X2 KC SE with Big-Tow, Off-Road and Rockford Fosgate Sound. I have since added a K&N Series 77, Magnaflow Dual Exhaust, Carriage Works Running Boards, Black Billet Grills, ARE Tonneau, American Racing 17-inch Chrome Burst Wheels, Aluminum Dash Accents and Aluminum Pedals.
Aside from a little brake issue (which everyone has) it has been a wonderful truck 15.2MPG average which is 2.5MPG BETTER than the 2002 SC Frontier I traded. As a recent ego boost, I just had an encounter with a kid in 97'-00' Mustang GT and after him taunting me for two miles I finally gave in... and apparently the Titan does a lot better than that model GT! He never gained and I consistently pulled away (however I have no idea if it was just a garden-variety GT or not, though he had enough ground effects to pretend otherwise).
Welp, here are the pics!

I've always been a believer in actions louder than words, so I'll keep this short. Back in my college days, I missed driving my Pop's red Datsun four-banger, and I started to outgrow my teenage urges that I lived through my V8 '77 stock Camaro. I ended up with a black '82 Nissan four-banger that hauntingly looked like my Pop's old Datsun and it got me through my college years. Through marketing, a roomy cab, a cadillac-like ride, and a peppy Vortec V6, I bought an S10 shortly after my first real job and independence. This truck lasted through numerous moves of friends getting married, moving out of the college housing, etc. and was quite an eye-catcher with the ladies if you know what I mean...
Then reality (and the good times) set in... I got married, had my first daughter, then realized that the fold-down bench seats weren't gonna cut it with a baby seat, so I gave in to the new wife's desires for an SUV (a nice, used decked-out Eddie Bauer Explorer). This vehicle lasted until daughter number two, where two car seats quickly filled up the vehicle that was supposed to handle a family... so again I gave in to the wife's desires (and by the way I 'inherited' her Lumina two weeks after the explorer arrived) for a mini-van. All the while I absolutely was sick to my stomach missing my truck, not having a utility vehicle worth a number-two, and even more upset having to borrow other friend's trucks to get business done. At this point I was not imposing on friends anymore and just looking forward to getting a truck again.
Fast forward a few years, add a son to the family, and the last straw when the head gasket blew out in my wife's Lumina (6 years driving this thing now). I only had a few months of payments left on the minivan and received the blessing-in-disguise to go truck shopping (finally!!!). With all of the good things I heard about the Nissan Titan, and with my boredom with advancements in the Ford and Chevy lines, and with the disgust in resale and reliabilty of the Dodges, I couldn't wait to drive the Titan.
So I took my Lumina to the local Nissan dealership, blown head gasket and all, and test drove a Titan. Being a fellow of just-above-average size, I sat in the back seat for a test and realized that it was the crew cab or nothing at all (especially for the three kids). There was this purdy-little red Titan on the lot with only 2.5 miles on it, had an unbelievable sound system, heated leather seats and too many features to think about, and to boot had an unbelievable ride and responsiveness for a truck this size. So I brought her home.
Now I'm washing and waxing my baby much more than I ever did with the wife's lumina, am proud to drive such a beautiful vehicle, and have to admit I love the attention again for driving such a hot truck. Having already spent more than I ever thought I would for a new vehicle, I haven't done any mods except a bug shield, and let me tell you that this baby turns heads wherever she goes... I absolutely love this truck and love even more that there is such an elite group in the St. Louis area that are privileged to drive these trucks. Compared to the hundreds of dodge, ford and chevy trucks I pass on the way to work every day, it is very refreshing to wave to a fellow Titan owner and be in the club that knows what real happiness is to drive a truck.
I just thought I'd share my joy with my Red Alert Titan with the rest of my truck family

Being a die-hard F-150 guy, I did a lot of investigating to find out about this new Titan truck that Nissan was supposed to be building.
Well, after what I had read, saw and heard about the Titan, I was chomping at the bit to have a chance to try one out. The relationship with my Titan began in April of 2004 right about the time I started the engine for the test drive. I was sold! (of course, I couldn't let the salesman know this!)
I brought it home that night, my wife has said ever since that I am in a mid-life crisis and the Titan is my new mistress. Well, I could think of worse things to be enamored with...
I am COMPLETELY satisfied with my Titan, and I am very sure that in the next few years, I'll purchase another one.
I am going to flight school here in the navy and get have the blue angels here doing their show twice a week. This in one of last years angels that they parked down at the end of the flight line.
Got my truck early Feb 04 right before I went into officer candidate school for the navy. I had a ford ranger and needed a much larger truck. Couldn't get any better than this. I only wanted a 4 door with 4x4 and big tow. At the time now one had one with just those options. Talked it over with my wife and the fully loaded one was the best way to go.
It's an LE CC with Big tow, Offroad, 4x4, sunroof, dvd, Nav, leather, Power everything, the sliding bed extender, divider. Before OCS I had the windows tinted, bug and window guards put on. While I was in OCS my wife had the ARE bed cover on it, first thing I did when I got out was to put on the bull bar and K&N air charger. The Centerline stingrays III were next and then the 3 inch lift.
Mods to do list are, Flowmaster duel exhaust, Rocksliders, and Larger tires.

I first fell in love with my Titan after reading about her in magazines, and my lust was further tantalized by seeing her in commercials. I finally worked up the courage to visit a house of ill repute in my area. I'm not in the habit of paying for my "company", but I approached a young fellow and expressed to him my wants and desires. For a large sum of money he promised to deliver the girl of my dreams. Several days later my dreams were realized.
She and I bonded immediately. I love her but she isn't without her shortcomings. She longs for a purse to hold her loose coins, and sometimes when she sings to me her voice fades in and out. She was somewhat self-conscious of her nose, so I presented her with a nice protector lest some rogue apply brute force to her most delicate feature. She has a fetish for large rubber things , so I gave her a nice mat for her bed as well as a set for her interior so that she wouldn't get soiled during the harsh winter months. I also gave her some shiny bed rails to pretty her up.
We enjoy many intimate moments. I love giving her bubble baths followed by soft, full body massages until her skin glistens in the sun. Sometimes she asks for a wax job, and I happily comply. I love being inside her, I can only describe it as pure ecstasy. I'm usually gentle, but sometimes in a fit of passion she will beg me to ride her hard, and again I happily comply.
Alas, I know that someday she will grow old and tired, but I take comfort in the knowledge that when that day comes I can trade her in for a younger model. And now if you'll excuse me, I need a cold shower.

I purchased her in November 2004, she was the last crew cab 4x4 SE they had, (i was told), well i got her for $26,850 plus the gold plus warranty for another $1,450 about $30g's all together. Big tow, popular bench, 6 disc, utili track, side bed storage, 4x4, air box mod w/ k&n drop in. I really wanted the LE style but they didnt have any at the time and it was about $5,000 more so i just got this one. Even though ive been to the dealer for the brake problem 2 times i still think the truck is stout, other minor problems like the drivers side window sticks, the drivers chair seems to be a little sideways to the left, actually the whole truck seems to lean to the left a little, other than that it all seems to work properly, oh the engine tick when idling. I havent done much to it because im wanting to trade it in for an LE later on this year, hopefully they have the bugs fixed for the brakes and other minor things. I also purchased another truck (2005 C.C.F250 FX4 4x4 Lariat diesel) the wife says im crazy, a little maybe but i love them both. Well heres a few older pictures i have from January 2005, this took place in Pismo Beach, where my wife and i got married, on a cliff at MargoDodd Park(spell check). Enjoy.Thats my wife doing the donuts.
