What cab size is most popular?

I did a few searches and did not see anything on this, forgive me if I missed it.

My goal is to get an '05 Titan in the spring of '05. For me I know I want a King Cab and I'm amazed at how many pics I see here of Crew Cabs; so I just got to wondering what is the breakdown for owners here.

ALSO- feel free to vote for what one you would buy if you are not an owner yet...

It might be good to set up a poll to do this.

I originally was looking at a KC, just because I wanted to save some money. In fact the last model I test drove before buying my truck was a SE KC. At the time, the dealer didn't have any CC on the lot equipped like I wanted, but as I was pulling in there was a demo CC sitting there. So I checked it out, even moved the front seats all the way back and climbed into the rear, sure enough, plenty of leg room. Coming from a 2 door SUV and a Chevy 1500 KC before the Titan, I really wanted something that would be less of a hassle and more comfortable for passengers. The CC has the advantages of a full size 4 door SUV and also a full size truck, albeit a somewhat shorter bed. The CC also alows me to fill up the interior with cargo that I rather not leave in the weather, and also lets my 95lbs dog lay down in the back with plenty of room. The only advantage the KC has is the added bed length and the price. Nissan did do a great job with the KC doors that swing all the way open, so either choice is good.

Have KC,but now,I wish CC.

I have a KC XE 2WD.I was set to get a CC XE,but I waited too long, and the one I was looking at sold(I wanted Side Curtain airbags,an uncommon option).Well,I was hot to buy,and I hadn't gotten my income tax return(the XE CC is about $2200 more) yet,so when a Red Brawn KC turned up,I bought it.In truth, the KC still makes more sense,I have used the extra length in the bed(plywood),but I would get the CC if I had to do it over because of the "family trip" possibilities of the CC(my wife prefers the Pilot SUV for trips).
I see the KC lead the poll,I would have guessed there were more CC's.Either is a good choice, the KC backseat is adult usable for a couple of hours, and flexible teenager usable for long trips, and great for grocery getting.Charlie

I went with the Crew because of family situations. I dont have kids now...but am planning on it in the future. The extra room back there is amazing. It's weird to look back there and see all of it. It's like looking back into part of a large SUV.

I agree. the backseat on KC is fine for adults when going across town but you wouldn't want to be back there on a cross-country jaunt.

It's just me and the wife, no kids or pets, so the KC fits us perfectly. Most of the time the lower seat is raised and we use the back for cargo space. We use the grocery bag hooks a lot.

Most people seem to be more concerned with comfort than using this vehicle as a truck. If you plan on putting anything in the bed go for the KC. If not you may as well buy a SUV. I wonder how may would still buy a CC with a three or four foot bed? Seems to work for ford...that explorer thing seems to be selling well.

For me, I bought a KC because it was less expensive, I needed the longer bed, and the back seats are still usable for taking passengers around town.

SUV's are limited to what can be placed inside them. You have to take out/fold down the seats, get it all ready, etc. I wanted the CC so I can put stuff in the box w/o having to worry about getting carpets dirty. Then, if I have to take a road trip with more than 2 people, everyone will be comfy cozy in the back. It's the best of both worlds.

I don't think that's very true. If all I was concerned about was comfort or passenger space, then, like you said, I would have bought an SUV. I had an SUV, and it just isn't practical for hauling certain types of cargo. There isn't much that won't fit in the CC's bed. I've hauled lumber a number of times, and just lower the gate. I had a short bed 1500 and had to do the same thing, so hardly any difference. Now I have the ability to seat 4 (even 5) adults comfortably and haul a fair amount of cargo in the bed. With your logic, why should we even have KC, why not just regular cabs? Remember the crew cab design has been out far longer than the KC or extended cab. And if it were a 3 foot bed, I would have gone with a different brand of truck with a more suitable bed (at least 5 feet.) The CC's passenger space and bed is a good mix of both the SUV and truck world in MHO. Something I neglected to mention ealier is that for those of us without a 2nd car, the CC helps. If I owned a passenger car along with the Titan, then it would maybe change my choice.

Interesting, the replies and votes are confirming what I was suspicious of; there are a lot of Crew Cabs out there. By the looks of the numbers you CC people are going to remain clearly in the majority.

For me I'm going KC because I need the bigger bed and as I'm a family of one, and my two cars are both 2-seaters, the KC is going to feel like a HUGE 4-door to me...

Clearly I'm not in that group.
I'm interested in the Titan because of:
- past Nissan truck ownership experiences
- 305 hp
- 379 ft-lbs
- 9,500 towing capacity
