THE FINAL TITAN BRAKE FIX and the RESULTS - being discussed at Nissan Titan Forums in the Titan Talk Site Polls section.
Who were the 2 votes that said they have MORE brake dust? They need to have their eyes checked. Im sure they accedently clicked that vote. Or they are people that just cant be satisfied.

Have 'THE FIX" and we are getting the jutter and it is getting owrse but not enough to make the steering wheel shake. Nissan seems to only recognize that as a for sure indicator so we'll wait for the wheel to shake like crazy and call. I wonder what Nissan will do now?
IQ9, Did you verfy you did indeed get the revised rotors?? Did they actually replace the rotors. Check your invoice with the numbers posted on the site. I have a sneaky feeling those with repeat problems have had old stock installed on their Titans and not the revised parts.
The brake fix feels exactly the same as the stock ones. I think people are are biased because the warping of the rotors caused braking problems, not the rotors itself. And as far as I can determine, the brake fix *should* feel exactly the same. They didn't put on bigger rotors or calipers with more pistons or anything that should increase/decrease performance. They just replaced the parts with similarly performing parts, just with better durability.

Actually the "Final Fix" has thicker rotors.... which will lead to better braking feel
I got the fix about 6 months after getting my '04, still have a lot of braoriginal fix wasn't bigger ke dust. The original fix didn't include bigger rotors.
Can someone attach a link to where the documentation or P/N's are for this "FINAL FIX", so I can bring to the dealersip?

Thanks.....Tom

My brakes were done at 3600 (December 04)miles, 7800 miles (Feb 04), 13200 (June 04), and last week at 18300 miles. They also did the back brakes the last two times.

Welcome to TT Aquaholic......so what kind of driving conditions do you have with your Titan? Any trailer towing?
Well...1000 miles after the final fix and no problems so far. A lot of brake dust for the first 500 miles, but that seems to have quit. Unquestionably, these are larger than the OEM and the braking is so far superior to what I had before, it's difficult to compare. When I developed the judder at 2500 miles, I drove my salesman's Titan who'd already had the judder and the final fix. The difference was night and day! They wanted to just resurface the rotors until the new ones came in, but I insisted that they instead call me when the next set of new rotors arrived. Why make two trips for the same problem? Anyway, so far I'm more than satisfied. It's difficult to describe, but there's a more "solid" feel when braking than there was with the originals.
Anyway, making a long trip next weekend, so I'll update on the brakes after that. It's likely I'll encounter snow and be off road in the mud and snow, so any problems I have I'll report.
Off topic....why can't I load my avatar? It's only 100 by 75 pixels and less than 19kb?
no problems AT ALL with these new brakes, finally they don't feel mushy, i don't have to clean my rims every 3 days, and i don't fear for my life. very responsive. now if they will just fix my manifold and passenger seat back i will have a perfect truck.
I can't vote on the poll because they haven't finished "the brake fix". New rotors etc. on the back, still waiting for new rotors and pads etc. on the fronts. Dealer turned front rotors @ 24000k with original pads still there. Babied them for 1000k then started driving "normal" again, 34000k and I think they're better than new. HATE the brake dust on the front rims!!! Looks like the '03/04 f150 rims... well.. no.. nothing could look as bad as a "blue miler"!
My 04 had the "final fix"... let's just say that the brakes were the least of the problems with my 04 that was born late into the run. My 05, which had the new brakes according to the VIN, was just brought in for, you guessed it, excessive brake dust and brake judder. I requested that the kit they put on the 04 be the one that went on my 05, the first time I bring it in, not "after they try the other steps". I only put about 2,000 miles on my brakes before getting rid of the 04 so I can't vouch for long term but short term, it made it worthwhile just to not have black wheels after 2 days. They feel about the same, sometimes I think the old pads stopped quicker other days, I think the new ones are better. Hard to compare without a direct back to back comparison. Overall, I have to say the stopping power is awesome for the size of the vehicle and lack of size of the rotors and pads... part of the problem maybe?

No. Your '05 didn't have the new pads or rotors. There is no way to tell from the VIN code if you did have them. The new rotors made it only to a few '05 and the pads never did. They weren't on the production line until the '06s. Also, the size of the brake rotors and pads is similar if not larger than the domestics and TOYs. You use the '05 in a past tense so it sounds like its gone. If it isn't, get a real dealer and get the new brakes.
I have an 05 with 6600 miles on it. Brake judder started at about 3000. I just took it in for the fix and they feel awesome. Now in 3000 miles who knows. Be careful of the dealerships. I spoke to the Service Manager. He told me since I bought it in August that I shouldn't have any problems and that they would just turn the rotors and put new pads on. After reading the discussions on this site I called back and spoke to Roger. He knew exactly what I needed and put the new kits on. They also turned my back rotors and put new pads on. Courtesy Nissan in Richardson, TX is where I bought both Nissans I own, I have a Murano as well. I am calling the GM today to let him know how retarted his Service Manager is. This guy told me the only fix ever done by Nissan was bigger pads. What a dumb ***!!! Any way, brake response is better than when it was new. Don't know about brake dust yet.
