Re: THE FINAL TITAN BRAKE FIX and the RESULTS

Hi.. first post ... May 04 titan.. had the famous brake shake at 10,500 miles. Dealer could not get the parts for two months and offered up to cut the front and rears as a short term remedy. Well, 30,500 miles in and it's back. At the dealer today and he called to say Nissan will not cover it as the extended warranty ran out 4 months back. I'm not sure if the dealer was blowing smoke but he seemed mad and attempted to call around to get it covered. Well, now I'm on the phone without an answer yet. It is beside me that the job was not done correct in the first place and they will not honer poor workmanship. I will re-post if I get anywhere with the folks at Nissan. I do have one question.... Is it the roter or the caliber and roter that are the problem?.... Are the aftermarkets working OK? Oh, buy they way, I say keep this poll rolling Thanks for listening to my squealing

I unfortunately endured the same exact complications with my brakes as you have. The wobbling steering wheel and eventually grinding noise in tight turns. I finally took the truck to nissan after driving down the highway and the brakes suddenly engaged on their own....yup, pretty damn scary situation. Nissan tried to blame everyone else but themselves. Long story short, I envoked the lemon law and after about a month of legal paper trails and phone calls, nissan settled out of court and I received $5000 for the repairs. Unfortunately im experiencing the same problems once again. Use the lemon law b4 u get in an accident!

Actually, the problem will find you first! Youll actually feel the steering wheel vibrate, youll notice uneven rotor wear from brakes, the brake pads will wear unevenly, and hopefully you wont experience the calipers locking up on you while in transit........like I did.

I had mine fixed at approx 10000mi, and they were fine untill approx 18k mi. I had nissan settle out of court for the damages, they replaced brake system( lemon law is great!!!) and now im at 30k mi. Guess what happened next......................ding ding ding!! Thats right folks! SAME DAMN THING IS HAPPENING AGAIN! Nissan now has my truck once again and their only options are to replace my truck with a new one, or upgrade the entire brake system. Im hoping for the latter of the two cuz I have already put so much money into the performance and appearance mods on this bad boy. Good luck anyways bro. Dont hesitate to envoke the lemon law, its easy and very effective. also use the BBB (better business bureau) it tends to get the ball rolling with things like this, and it scares the hell out of big corporations.

bendix is good for the money and warranty but they are notorious for squealing. Speaking from experience.

Now I have another issue. Any one have problems with the A/c blowing hot air in summer and cold in winter, Problems with the airbag light blinking or the washer fluid hose breaking? I've got others but keepin to a minimum since this is not the right topic.

Whom else has this problem?
eeeeeeek! U sure you dont just have some pissed off EX-GIRLFRIEND or wife that could be the culprit?

Re: THE FINAL TITAN BRAKE FIX and the RESULTS

Hey, I've got an 04 XE that I bought used. How can I tell if it's had the fix, and if not, how can I get it? It's not that the brakes are bad now, but they're not great.

What type of dealership did you buy it from? I just baught a 05 from a nissan dealer and they replaced the front roaters and put on new pads all around. I would suggest contacting a nissan dealership and have them check it out for you. The old brakes wern't real bad but the new ones are much better.

Re: THE FINAL TITAN BRAKE FIX and the RESULTS

I got it from CarMax... I did call Nissan, and there are no outstanding recalls for my VIN. I'm gathering that this wouldn't tell me if I've had the brakes upgraded or not. I'll try to work it out with the local Nissan dealership.

Brakes

I have had my Titan back to the dealership 3 times and they keep
telling me there is nothing wrong!!! A couple days ago it started
sounding real bad especially when I first started it up and put it in
reverse. Is this covered by warranty---I have 2006 KC with 36,000
km........ bought it new. I am a woman and have been complaining
about the steering since I got it. It pulls to the left and then the right,
nothing consistent---they just keep putting me off!!! I am
beginning to think I bought a real Lemon!! Help is appreciated.
