About a week ago I arrived in California after starting off in Maryland. We decided to rent a tow dolly to pull my wife's Hyundai so we could all ride together as a family in the same vehicle. The total length of the trip was just around 3300 miles with a few stops along the way to visit family and friends. I have to say that even though I did not purchase a Titan with the big tow package I was very impressed with how well the truck performed. For the most part the car wasn't even noticeable unless going up and down hills and mountains of course. I used the tow mode option but still found myself dropping the gears down to as low as third going down the backside of hills and occasionally driving in fourth gear. My average speed was 70 MPH. At 60-65 there was a slight shimmy that was non existent above 70. Average gas mileage was 13.2. Tranny temp never got up past the half way mark which was a concern I had prior to towing after some of the posts I've read. When we arrived at our destination I couldn't wait to get the car off the tow dolly but if I had to do it all over again I wouldn't hesitate to tow the car again.

Yeah, the gauge cluster on the '08 and up is different, and has not only that, but some other cool functions that aren't on the previous MY trucks. Not to mention the stronger rear ends, higher payload capacity, bigger brakes...

I thought the temp gauge and the tow mode for that matter came whenever you purchased the towing package.

Everyone has "tow mode". That is just a button that raises the shift points. The gauge is only on models with the "tow package" on pre 08 models, but is on all the trucks after. For instance, my 09 has the temp gauge, but I do not have big tow.
Oh! Mine is an 08.5, why they did a .5 not sure, but I have the big tow and didn't look at anything else. Good to know though!
