Nice set up Greasy.. Its been spilly out here the last few, fished a tournament Sat. in a Contender 30 with waves over the bow off the reefs & ten foot rollers in deep blue. Looks like you have a SeaVee?

I need more payload capability

I had my truck weighed this weekend and it came in at 5500#. When you figure out the numbers it turns out there is very little room for payload if you have a few kids and a few mods to your truck.

The GVWR on my truck is 6499# so I only have 1000# to go to max it out. My 4000# travel trailer has a tounge weight of 400-500# and if you throw in 500-600# of people poundage I am at the GVWR with no extra stuff in the truck.

Guess I'll just have to get rid of a few kids and put more junk in the trailer instead of the truck bed.....

Yes, Optimist, that is a 28' Sea-Vee with a Yanmar diesel inboard. I fished last Friday. It was brutal, 6-7 feet, but the dolphin were plentiful so it was worth the trouble.
I can't get over how nice this truck pulls in comparison with the F250 super stroke diesel I had before. It is smother. Last week I went to the west coast and what a pleasure it was, cruise control at 65 and relaxed with the monster out back.
