Tow/Haul Mode

I've really enjoyed listening to you guys the past few weeks. You really put out a lot of knowledge. I'm real close to deciding on a new Titan. I've been impressed will all its standard features, such as the Tow/Haul Mode. My question is, just how important is this feature? I notice the Fords do not offer it and the salesman acted like he had never heard of it. We want to pull a travel trailer (25 ft) so I want something that will do the job. Is this Tow/Haul Mode really important is is it just a selling point?

What it does in the Titan is change the shift points in the tranny (electronically) to keep the truck in a gear longer allowing you to keep the revs up itstead of a steep drop off like when you hit a slight incline. Its a good thing.

I noticed when coming down the mountain on Sunday, that if you start to feather the brake, the rpms will jump up as the tranny downshifts. It adds engine braking and I would have never noticed it with the stereo up until I looked at the tach.

Played with that feature a few times on the way down, very nice!

Great feature, I pull a 5000lb boat plus haul around the family and their gear.

You won't get that constant shifting up & down on a hill as your revs pick up and drop.

if you have ever driven a ford truck you will know the difference, the tranny is constantly hunting around for the proper gear when going uphill and through canyons...
even without the tow/haul mode, the titan holds gears and doesn't "hunt" nearly as much as other cars/trucks. it doesn't hurt having all that power either!
