tow hitch question

My stepbrother had a nissan tow hitch installed on his titan and they also installed what looked like two relays (not really sure). They're blue and they're inserted in the box right behind the battery.. I think they were labeled "tow trailer one" and "tow trailer two". He was asking me what these are for....anyone know?

Nick

At least one of them is for trailer brakes.

Relays

One of them, the larger one, is for electronic trailer brake power. The other one supplies the running lights power. Without them, you would have turn signals and brake lights with your trailer, but no running lights. I had to buy them after I put on my hitch. The hitch from the dealer comes with the two relays.

i'm not quite sure, (I assume you guys are towing bigger things than my 14' fishing boat)
I bought an aftermarket hitch (class 3-4)from Best for Less trucks out of Arizona, got the wiring shipping etc for a total of $130.

It is super easy to install

Is that thing you guys are talking about (the thing on battery for a trailer w/brakes?)
