Trailor light problem?

I need help.. my titan didn't come with the tow package and I put in my own. The trailor has been tested all lights work. the Wireing harness works too.
So the problem is with the truck. I can get brake and signal lights to work but not the running lights.
any suggestions?

There is a relay that needs to be put in under the hood near the fuses. There are two unused plugs, one is for the running lights and one is for the brake controller prewiring. The nissan hitch comes with the relays. If you bought a different brand you will need to buy the relay from nissan. I don't know the part # but search this forum for "relay", it's been posted recently. Hope that helps.

can you explain how you connected it to the truck? are you using the factory 7-pin connector with a 4 pin adapter? how did you test the trailer lights? did you connect it to another vehicle wired for trailer lights, or what?

one possiblity I see is ground and running light wires reversed, with no good gound to the trailer.

Forgot about that, I assumed since he had something working that he already put the relay in.

The relay is for the running lights only. Because there can be many running lights they are on a seperate circuit so not to overload the trucks light circuit. The stop and turn lights, since there are only two, work off the trucks stop and turn light circuit.
