Towing without Big Tow

I'm trying to figure out if I'm going to mess anything up towing about 7000 lbs without big tow in the mountains. What kind of strain will I be putting on the truck with out the lower final gears????? Or, can I overcome this by just shifting into a lower gear?

You should be fine. I would just make sure the transmission is not shifting all the time. Be sure to watch your guages.

I believe you still have use of a TOW/HAUL mode....right? As long as you don't go over the recommended tow rating, no worries!
