I don't have the Big Tow so I know I don't have the harness pigtail. I'll have to purchase that from Nissan. However, I'm trying to find the pre-wiring harness that's taped to a wire bundle. It's to the right of the emergency brake and above the hole in the firewall where the hood unlatch cable goes through, according to the manual. I'm assuming that the cable bundle is the brake wiring bundle. However I haven't found that harness which is supposedly labeled with a White label saying Trailer brake harness. I know it's there because the manual makes specific mention of it, I just can't find it.

WTF!!!!!! Give me a break!! Make sure you have power to the running lights when youu do yours...you might want to get the relays if needed bro.

Thanks in advance, have a good one.
The XE models are not prewired for trailer brakes.
Thanks guys, I went on another forum and Jet Tech had a very good picture of where the harness is. It's no where near where the manual states it is. You actually have to take the lower panel off of the dash to access it. It's pretty much "RIGHT BELOW" the left outlet duct on the dash. Of course, that is with the panel off.
I've actually ran into quite a few pictures of this over several different Titan forums. The statements by some was that Nissan changed the location on later models.
Technically, as stated by the option lists, only the Big Tow option includes trailer brake prewiring. I think they say this because that option includes the pigtail that plugs into the harness. All Titans come with a "7" pin trailer plug. If they weren't prewired for trailer brakes, having a 7 pin plug would make no sense.
I have the Nissan hitch because I couldn't get the relays any other way besides buying them from Nissan parts. That would had made a hitch install by others much more expensive than an install by Nissan. I went the cheapest route and had Nissan do the install. The Nissan hitch include all hardware and relays. The Nissan hitch installed was $300. Others wanted anywhere from $250 to $275 without the relays.
I purchased a tubed receiver at U-Haul for about 100 dollars. I believe it to be manufactured by Hidden Hitch. Very good quality. The install was easy. For the the seven pin bumper wiring, I bought a Hoppy kit from Pep Boys for about 30 bucks. The electrical works and looks great. Mounting was a little difficult because of the plastic on the Titan. I had to use stand-offs for the mounting bracket.
My running lights did not work without the my installing the missing relays.
I also have been searching for the mystery electrical connector under the dash. I have installed wiring on F-16s and B-1 bombers, so you would think a trained electrician could find it. Even the Nissan Parts salesman did not know where it is. In my view, Nissan Corporate needs to do a lot better job in disseminating info down the chain if they intend to keep me as a repeat customer. My Titan still impresses me more than two months after the sale.
But it is service after the sale that keeps me loyal.

Well I'll find out shorty just where it is. The truck is at the dealer to put on my new Tonneau cover and I asked them to locate the harnass for me. These guys are great, very informal and intelligent.
Also, I read on another Forum that stated Nissan was issueing a recall on the brake rotors in March. He said they've heard of no such thing and that the select few Titan having problems already have a fix. The fix is newly designed calipers and newly design pads. Also to have the rotor turned while on the vehicle through some type of process. He stated not all have a problem and are caused by user error as well as mechanical by owners riding their brakes. He said the fix has worked on the Titans that needed it.
Talked to the dealer. He said my XE is prewired but the harnass is all taped up under the dash. He said when I buy the brake controller, they'll hook it up for me no charge so that they don't need to pull the panel off 2 times.
The lower panel is held on by 2 phillips screws, and then clips on the panel itself...just pull it off. You'll see the taped connector(mine had white tape) right by the e-brake release. I run the Prodigy controller, have not found a plug in harness from them that plugs right into the Titan connector, had to sit down, and use the factory supplied pig-tail, and splice it to the Prodigy's harness.
Great controller.
