Anyone have pics of their campers hooked up to their trucks? The reason I ask is that I just picked up my 28' TT today and was shocked to see that with the Reese 1200 LB weight distributing hitch and sway bar, the truck sits exactly the way it does with no trailer on it! Not an inch of sag at all! I'm just wondering if that's ok or did they have the the weight distribution to tight. I'll post pics when I hook her up again. Any comments?
Nice. Thanks for the pic. I have the same color CC truck. What's that trailer weigh? The one I have is a 28' Sunline Solaris SR with the slide out and weighs about 6100 LBS dry.

The trailer is an ultralite, it weighs 4474 lbs dry and has a GVWR of 6200 lbs, dry tongue weight is 494 lbs. It doesn't have any slides, we opted to get this TT because it was light and the price was right.
Last summer we towed (with my Sedona Titan) a Nash 22' TT, GVWR of 6600 lbs and a tongue weight of around 700 lbs. We had a WD set up, no anti-sway (was a rented trailer) and had no trouble at all, truck didn't even sag a bit. The truck had no trouble with the weight and we were loaded down.

Sounds like it is set up good. The truck should settle down just about equally front and back when the hitch is adjusted properly. How does it tow??

Not real sure yet.....we only towed it home about 2 miles from the dealer. Seemed fine but, not much of a ride to tell.
It will also sag more when your loaded up for camping. You have to figure you'll probley have at least another 500 pounds in the bed with all your gear loaded up.

Man, what do you take, lead blocks?
My camping gear and gear for 3 people would be ~200#. Can't see where 500# comes from unless you load your bed with firewood.
Also, I would load the trailer instead of the truck, to use the trailer's GVWR. That's frees up the trucks GVWR for people and on-board items.

Have a good one.
lol, it add's up faster than you think. I usually have firewood, generator and gas, assortment of tools for whatever, 6 gallon jug of extra water, an ez-up tent, and coolers full of ice and beer... oh and some food too. lol And that doesn't include all the other crap that is in the trailer like chairs, cooking gear, clothing, nonparishable goods, and whatever other goodies we happen to have. I also don't really pack light, I like to be sure I have everything.

I tent camp and everyone makes fun of me for bringing everything. I bring my 13' X 13' Coleman 3 room tent, 13' X 13' floor tarp for tent (floor and condensation protection), 3 Coleman cots, 7 gallons of cleaning water, 5 gallons of drinking water, sleeping bags and mat for those without a cot, Pillows, Battery latern for tent and propane for outside, Aluminum folding table (for those sites without a picnic table), ground tarp for laying out gear (to protect from mud and rain), 4 Tent chairs, Coleman propane Grille/stove, some firewood (limited amount), pathway/insect candles, Deep woods OFF, shovel, Axe, Wood Saw, macheti (spelling ?), jambox for those drunken times, front door rugs for tent (3 for the 2 doors and one for inside shoes), cooler full of hot dogs, brauts, hamburgers, eggs, sausage, and BEER, eating utensils, fishing gear, and Oh Yeh, duffle bags for our cloth. Nix the 200# and replace with 1500#
That's why I needed a truck, couldn't get all that in my 2000 Xterra and seat 5. Only 2 with the rear seat folded.
Now I can fit all that and more, plus be able to seat 6!!!!!!
If your are using weight distribution bars which are adjusted properly, with the chain links set to the proper link and you're still getting too much rear end sag, it's possible your hitch needs adjusted. Notice how it can be taken apart and set at different levels.
It is very important that the ball height be set correctly to match the trailer. Sorry I don't have the proper measurement procedure to post here, but any good RV center or hitch installer should know.

Unhitched the trailer in the middle of my street leveld it perfectly.Backed the truck to it and raised the hitch 2" to make up for sag.Drove ten miles on the Long Island Exsressway @ 65mph with my buddy following me. I forgot I was towing my 31' foot Dutchman. Keep the chains as tight as you can get them.My buddy never seen the trailer sway at all.
