Towing X perts??

Ok, from reading my manual it says not to tow anything over 5k without the weight distribution hitch. I have the weight distribution hitch. I want to use it, or actually I need to tow my boat, BUT it doesn't have the two rails running up far enough to connect the WD hitch. Any suggestions?
I previously pulled the boat with my Land Cruiser, no WD hitch and it was delivered to me by someone driving an F150, no WD hitch and he didn't even have the electronic brake controller hooked up. It really doesn't have that much weight on the front of the trailer (never really squated the other vehicles).

Thanks,

Well, since no one chimed in I had to search google. The hardest part is trying to find key words, when you don't know what it is you are looking for.
What I need is a "Pole Tongue Adapter". Basically it just puts a T across the tongue to connect the WD hitch to. Cool....

I tow my 24' Bayliner Ciera (smaller version of your boat), about 7,000+ lbs, without weight distribution. Your boat is obviously bigger so maybe you really do need it. But I'd say tow without it a couple times, if it all handles okay then you'll be alright. I asked the same question on a boating forum when I first got my boat and that was their advice as well.

Other people may chime in that I'm giving bad advise against the manual, so make up your own mind. If a 28' cruiser isn't squatting the tow vehicle at least a little, I would get the tongue weight checked out though. Boats should be around 7% for the tongue weight as opposed to travel trailers that are normally set up for 10-12%.

Try asking your question on a boating forum and they might know something about trailer attachments for boat trailers. These are the forums I lurk on:

Good luck!
