Vector, great looking car... Where are you located? How much displacement the motor have? What are the specs on the turbo's? How much boost you run?

As you can see, cars are my sickness too...

Vector, whats the curb weight on your car? Also what kind of oil do you run in that thing? Just curious.

As many answers as I can field.

The engine displaces 366 cu in 6.0L . All Vectors have a Rodeck Y-Block in them (it is the same block you see in all the drag cars that run 3-5000hp. It can be sleeved to 572cu in). The intention at Vector was to have a reliable engine that will last the life of the owner while providing him with the thrill of a life time. She is built like a brick sh*t house to run all day long and never have a glitch at her stated horsepower rating.

Factory settings for boost are 8 lbs but there is a factory boost controller in the car that can take it to 14 lbs of boost if the owner chooses to run 114 octane race fuel. This will put the engine at a tad over 1100hp

The turbos are Garrett TO-3's with aircraft specific impellers and housings.

As for oil, due to the two super heaters in the car, you have to run Castrol Syntech 20w-50 in her. She has 2 PL30001 Purilator oil filters for her 3-gallon dry sump oil system.

Weight 3250 lbs but GVWR is 3980lbs with all fluids, and two people in the car + luggage.

HoustonT, Sorry about the disease my brother. It is something for which modern man has no known cure. You and I are stuck with it.

I love these things, and so do pretty much every single good lookin girl I meet. chick magnets..... The skis are around 750-800lbs each and I'm guessing that trailer weighs 500lbs or so. The Hondas have a 1296cc I-4 putting out 165 turbocharged horse power, not sure how much boost they got. All I know is they are FAST!!!

Here's what I tow, and the Smoky Mountains don't even slow me down.

This is our 1995 Regal Commodore 272, she has twin Mercruiser 4.3L Vortecs with Alpha drives, weight w/ boat, trailer, gear, and spouse w/ full tank of gas in truck is 9100 lbs. Boat is 30' overall plus an additional 8 ft past the bow for the trailer tongue is 38 feet. Tows it to Fla with no problems.

Cheers!

Just a show toy, she is a trailer queen. I used to work for Vector, hence the serious love for the car. You can pry the keys from my cold dead hands.

Oh also the root cause of my DIVORCE. The car and house are still mine, she lost, I won!

Life is good. My lawyer was better!

Whoa dudee...u have a Vector?! I remember reading up on them in a magazine in highschool...I fell in love with'em!! I clearly remember it saying that W8 acceleration is a like a scud missle being fired from the USS Kitty Hawk. Ahhh....I envy you!!! lol

BTW...what did you do @ Vector?

Work at Vector

Jack of all trades, Engineer, Builder, Inventory Control Manager. Where ever I was needed. Started there when there were only 3 people working there. A far cry from the 100+ people in the end.

The cars were all sold at a loss, there were over 4000 man-hours required to build each car. Multiply that by the expertise of the individuals working there, and then tacking the cost of all the components on to that and the cars true production value could be doubled.

It is a project that will never be duplicated. (I miss the people the most; it was one large happy family)

No fun, just business

I like everybody's toys. Too bad mine gets used for work. 20' flatbed, tamden axel. This trip? 5-6,000 pounds on trailer another 1,000 in bed. 1000 miles minimum.
